Across the industry last week, the combined capital cities achieved an auction clearance rate of 63.4%. The highest preliminary clearance rates were in Adelaide at 66.3%.

Again, interesting numbers: 23% of Melbourne auctions were passed in. To me, that reflects that Melbourne Agents are using auctions as their de facto sales method even though it may not be the best option. This compares to just 8.8% of auctions in Sydney being passed in. Brisbane won the week, with a massive 40% of properties passing in from just 47 auctions compared to 726 in Melbourne.
