Today's Election Day! Let's take a moment to reflect on what truly matters. Regardless of who you support, remember that the president's impact on your daily life is relatively small - or at least should be! It's local elections and community involvement that drive meaningful change. *The Power of Local Engagement* - *Local Elections Matter*: Your voice holds more weight in local elections and discussions, shaping decisions on education, infrastructure, and public services. - *Community Involvement*: Get involved in initiatives that improve your neighborhood, support local businesses, and foster connections. *Beyond the Presidential Election* - *Focus on Shared Goals*: We're all on the same team, working towards a better future. - *Rise Above Divisive Rhetoric*: Don't let inflammatory language and news cycles dictate your perspective. *Take Action* - *Vote*: Exercise your right and make your voice heard. - *Stay Informed*: Follow local news and engage in respectful conversations. - *Engage*: Have an open mind, discuss issues in good faith, and remember that we have more in common than we don’t. Let's prioritize unity, local engagement, and constructive dialogue. Share your thoughts on the importance of community involvement and local elections! #ElectionDay #LocalMatters #Vote #CommunityFirst #UnityInAction

As a student of narrative science, the pivot in the ‘grand narratives’ we’re currently experiencing in the US elections has been fascinating - as described in this super article by Anat Shenker-Osorio. “…what breaks through to the average voter about elections aren’t detailed policy platforms. Elections are made out of grand narratives — storylines that make clear precisely what harms the antagonists have in store and imbue the protagonists — by which I mean the voters — with the agency to select the future they would like. And while this does not come up in issue polling, most people would like that future to be a good time.” For those of us also working on pro-democracy organizing beyond any one election cycle, we’re mindful of the ways these grand narratives may help or harm our ability to come together across ideologies to work for a shared future - there is definitely no arguing with JOY at the center. 🔗 in the comments

Standing for Democracy and Accountability. Today, I had the privilege to testify before the Wisconsin Elections Commission, representing All Voting is Local Action and over 1,800 Wisconsinites who stand for free and fair elections. We are calling for the immediate resignation of Bob Spindell from the Wisconsin Elections Commission. His actions as a 2020 fake elector and his alarming remarks celebrating voter suppression in Black and Brown communities betray the trust that our elections are built on. As a mother and a proud Wisconsinite, I believe that every voter, regardless of race or political party, deserves respect and representation. Bob Spindell has failed in this responsibility, and today we made it clear: Wisconsinites deserve better. Together, we’re holding our leaders accountable and pushing for a more equitable democracy. #ProtectOurVote #FreeAndFairElections #DemocracyInAction #AccountabilityMatters #ResignBobSpindell #AllVotingisLocalAction
