🌟 #GlobalConnect24 ended Day 1 on a high note, with some dynamic panel discussions and sessions. "What Is Our Future In Change?" saw moderator and #ACMP President Rich Batchelor lead a thought-provoking panel of change leaders, including Rana Ozseker, Benjamin Manu, Faith Timbs and Hatem Shehab. As Rana shared, "As change managers, we need to focus on the concept of change itself, as it makes us reevaluate how we do our jobs." Thinking of the future, Faith noted that "AI can help us expedite our project management, so that we can better focus on the human element." Next up was another terrific panel, "Apply the ACMP Standard to Various Types of Change Initiatives," led by #ACMP Board Member Greg Voeller, CCMP™, with Leanne Douglas, MA, CCMP, Prosci, Steven Suckling and Leo Lin. In discussion around key change manager attributes, Leo noted that "Skills and competencies can be taught, but mindset and aptitude must be within you. You must stay openminded when applying the Standard." Two fascinating sessions wrapped up the day, "Unlocking Change: Insights from a CIA Analyst," with Rumbidzai Mufuka, PhD, and "Embracing the Future: Organisational Adaptation Implication as a Result of Artificial Intelligence," with Dr Elissa Farrow. We also enjoyed a video from our sponsor, Pandatron. All sessions were incredibly well-received, with incisive comments and suggestions from attendees. Thank you all and we can't wait for tomorrow's sessions! #LeadingTheWayChangeWorks #ChangeManagement

RoTreat 2024 has been a productive and thought-provoking experience, with one more day still to go. Thank you to Unicorn Labs for leading a day filled with practical insights and to Fahd for his impactful storytelling and natural ability to provoke those “A-ha” moments. Key takeaways I’m reflecting on: • Establish an “In-Out Contract” with your team: Identify what behaviors to maintain and what to leave behind—then write it down. • Address communication gaps: Ask clear questions to uncover priorities, both yours and theirs, and pinpoint areas to strengthen. • Decisions as “doors”: Recognize one-way door decisions (hard to reverse) versus two-way door decisions (easy to adjust). Empowering teams to handle two-way decisions builds autonomy and efficiency. Hearing stories of growth and change has been a great opportunity to reflect on my own experiences and the lessons learned over time. Grateful to learn alongside a talented group of Corporate Services Leaders. Always happy to support with brainstorming or role-playing those challenging conversations! I know hundreds of people on LinkedIn who jumped on the Artificial Intelligence bandwagon after ChatGPT went viral. If you’re an executive seeking an advisor, always review their history. If they began in AI post November 2022 with no prior background, it’s highly unlikely they possess the technical expertise to be an expert or the commercial expertise to deliver on AI projects. Additionally, using an LLM doesn’t make you an AI specialist. #artificialintelligence #machinelearning

In my opinion, one of the very real problem we face as a society, are the sheer number of technically incompetent people pretending to be #experts in technology - especially #ai Some of them even carry the title of #cto ... while others promote themselves as #cto ( #leadership ) #coach Just as members of the executive team (& the board) expect a "Chief Financial Officer" to be an expert in #finanace, they expect a "Chief Technology Officer" to be an expert in #technology #foodForThought #thinkDifferently

#KnowNothingCISO Disclaimer Applies RISKS IN LINEAR vs EXPONENTIAL TRAJECTORIES There is no question that Felix Hovsepian, PhD is one of the most influential and rational #thinkers in LinkedIn. There is no questioning, digital technologies are leapfrogging at an exponential growth rate with technological singularity approaching in 20 years (2045) i may have to bring in a financial expert to weigh in this debate Raman PK to do a sanity check on me ! I absolutely agree with Felix below..but As a CxO myself , I have a slightly different perspective on this below “Just as members of the executive team (& the board) expect a "Chief Financial Officer" to be an expert in #finanace, they expect a "Chief Technology Officer" to be an expert in #technology” I would slightly expand this While the members of the executive team (& the board) expect any CxO to be an expert in #finance, they expect a "Chief Technology Officer" to be an advanced expert in #technology The field of Finance and the Role of CFO has not changed in the last 50 years, budgets, revenue, P&L, Expenses, Profit, Growth, has not changed, maybe Financial Risk aspect has changed ..I dont expect this to change significantly in the future a for profit company . But the Universe of a CTO is changing by the hour .. I am sure as a metamathematician you understand Exponential Growth patterns and the rate of change concept.. ( this rate of change is even worse for CISOs) … The CTO and CFO dynamics will be very fascinating to watch.. a CTO may want unlimited money and CFO may be the brake on expense. The paradigm shift from Capex to Opex is a fascinating one to observe from a distance..( there are many articles that say this model is unsustainable in the long run. Cloud Repatriation is no longer a whisper) A CFO to me is the Chief Fiduciary Officer! All CxOs are supposed to be in a Fiduciary Role.. “A fiduciary role is a position of trust where a person is responsible for managing another person's money or property, acting in the other person's best interest. Fiduciaries must act with care and avoid conflicts of interest” … If you ask a honest question to a CxO.. what will be the response? .. many CxO don’t understand thier fiduciary role! A good fiduciary officer is aware of risk in a straight line (status quo) vs risks in a linear growth curve vs risks in exponential growth curve. “the very real problem we face as a society, are the sheer number of technically incompetent people pretending to be #experts in technology - especially #ai”. These “technically incompetent people” pretending to be #experts in technology - especially #ai are promising exponential growth! Some of them even carry the title of #cto”, A more interesting question and debate me and my mentor and coach have very frequently is “How did they get there” ? There are two fascinating case studies we follow closely for over a two decades (neither of them the organization we currently work) #slopeOfCurve

Dip your fingers or drench yourself doing, implementing ai to know what challenges exists at ground zero. Stay away from market hype, invest in first principle thinking.
