During my 12 years with IPC, Pete was a constant source of support and knowledge (even when that support was needed in the middle of Pete's night!). Ever the realist, Pete could identity the challenges and the solutions of operating IPC's exceptionally sophisticated and mission critical systems. I worked with Pete from 1984 to 1995 (engineering/manufacturing). Pete's influence extended beyond just technical knowledge and included interpersonal, dynamics, and strong leadership skills. He was effective in driving progress through collaboration, effective and persistent communication, and yet respectful. Pete always captured the perfect meeting minutes and you knew you could not get away with not following through with your task whether you worked directly for him or not. As a young engineer, the lessons I learned from observing Pete and his contagious personality were invaluable assets that continued to benefit me in my career journey. IPC is so lucky to have him for so long - congratulations!
Wow, 45 years?!?. I had the pleasure of working at IPC for a very short period of time before the business, Public Safety Gov-Tech Biz, I was running was spun out to West Corp/Intrado. However, every interaction with Pete Simms was a good one. Best of luck to you Pete as you open a new chapter in life!
