"International Women’s Day 2024 takes the theme of inspiring inclusion. As a leader in global market access, working to ensure the right patients get access, to the right drugs, at the right time, inclusion is a topic I consider daily. Focusing my thoughts on the inclusion of women in business, it is clear this is not just a moral necessity but also a strategic advantage, driving innovation and collaboration, enhancing performance, and promoting a more equitable society. At the individual business level, women encourage the success and well-being of a broad and representative employee demographic, across job roles and functions. The rising representation of women in leadership roles, should serve as inspiration for aspiring women and girls, and women holding these roles should serve as mentors and role models, paving the way for others and empowering them to pursue their career ambitions" - Zoe, Senior Director at IPG Health Global Market Access #inspireinclusion IPG Health

Women: let’s break barriers together! 🌟 This might resonate with you: you get a new job or role. There aren’t many women in senior positions, so you try to connect with them, only to find yourself ignored or outright rejected 🙅♀️. The sad part is, that those women aren’t rejecting you for personal reasons - they’re doing the right thing by their career, because according to research, senior-level women who champion junior colleagues are more likely to get negative performance reviews! Yet another way to get held back. But what if we could change that dynamic, by making a point of fostering connections and encouraging collaboration? As women, champions 🏆 play a crucial role in our career advancement, offering advocacy and growth opportunities. So, if you can find even the smallest way to support other women in your workplace, do it! Let’s remember that, together, we can break down even more barriers and pave the way for more inclusive and equitable workplaces 💼. Let’s do this! 🚀 #WomenEmpowerment #Inclusion #Womenleaders

As we come to the cusp of another #InternationalWomensDay tomorrow, I can't help but feel a sense of frustration. It's a frustration born from the realisation that Saturday, the day right after #IWD, will once again arrive with a bitter aftertaste of ineffectiveness. Last year, the theme was #EmbraceEquity. I watched as women across social media hugged themselves in solidarity, and businesses joined in, posting images of their women employees embracing themselves. Yet, amid the flurry of symbolic gestures, where were the concrete actions? Where were the reports on progress, the statistics showing advancements in gender equity within leadership positions, on boards, within teams? The silence that followed for the rest of the year left me disheartened and angry. Why are businesses treating this merely an opportunity for virtue signalling, a chance to earn likes and applause, without any real commitment to authentic change? And now, here we are, with this year's theme: #InspireInclusion. Once again, we see women forming hearts with their hands – but let's not be fooled by the superficial. Let's not settle for pretty pictures and empty words. This year, I implore businesses to go beyond the surface level. It's time to take real action, to implement tangible measures that foster genuine inclusion in the workplace. It's time to tear down barriers and create opportunities for your women. Let's not shy away from the discomfort of acknowledging where we fall short. Let's confront the systemic issues head-on and commit to meaningful change. Let's demand transparency, demand progress, demand more than just lip service. Most importantly, let's make a collective vow to hold ourselves and others accountable. Women deserve more than token gestures they deserve true equality, genuine inclusion, and unwavering support throughout the year. Leaders, if you want to talk about how you can genuinely create these opportunities for the women in your organisations, DM me. I've done this for more than two decades, and it's your time to step up and TRULY inspire inclusion. #DEI #Inclusion #Women #Leadership

Why does a woman’s growth present a non-linear path… as if it's an uneven staircase? “Beyond Inclusion” indulges this question while making a case on the #gender #disparity in light of the noise and the effort being made. 1. #Women in senior leadership positions earn 79 cents for every dollar earned by men in similar roles. 2. Women face more barriers to advancement in their careers, including bias and lack of sponsorship. 3. Systemic barriers contribute to the underrepresentation of women in high-level positions further contributing to scarcity of female role models. 4. Gender parity will take more than a century to attain if policy changes are not accelerated, according to the World Economic Forum, since women-led enterprises account for only 15% of global trade in 2023. Beyond inclusion is an ongoing conversation that bring the attention towards practical effort to defy the lasting impact of the remains of gender bias. International Women's Day - 8th March ... incoming - please no performative posts!! This year's theme is about inspiring inclusion. It's important to remember that diversity is the "what" and inclusion is the "how". Inspiration is about authenticity and authenticity is achieved through values AND actions aligning. It's easy to post a picture on IWD of your daughter, sister or wife and hope for a better world, but does it display your actions? It’s also very easy to support ERGs with “love this” or “great post”. It perhaps demonstrates your values , but does it display your actions? Head in hands at the performative posts.... It's important to ask yourself when was the last time you genuinely contributed to an inclusive culture and therefore have an experience to inspire others? So, what could inclusion look like? 💫Attending events and committees with a genuine intent to lead change. 💫Ensuring clear opportunities for advancement and success. 💫Encouraging underrepresented groups to take risks and supporting their career goals. 💫Ensuring everyone feels valued, supported and heard. Let's inspire and move away from just "telling" and "talking about". Diversity without inclusion is tokenism after all. So, how have you or will you inspire inclusion? What has ACTUALLY been done to change and evolve? So, in a nutshell, if you aren't doing it consistently and outside of IWD, don't post about it...... #iwd2024 #inspireinclusion #actionoverwords #inclusionanddiversity #iwd2024womenleadingtheway

I was recently honored to be interviewed by the wonderful Isabelle Nanin -Magic Women 🪄🫤🥳🌎 for her monthly newsletter, on a topic that's especially close to my heart: gender biases in organizations. 💬 We had a deep and insightful conversation about the most common biases and stereotypes women face, the societal pressure to conform to traditional gender roles, and the actionable steps organizations can take to foster more inclusive, equitable work environments. 📑 One study I love to highlight: In many teams, women often find themselves volunteering for tasks like writing meeting minutes, organizing workshops, or handling team logistics – you know, the “invisible work.” Meanwhile, their male colleagues are rarely jumping in. Not out of malice, but often because a capable woman has already raised her hand. This is tied to the strong societal expectation for women to be caretakers, which can lead to female colleagues being first in line for these tasks. While they’re investing time in this often-unrecognized labor, their male counterparts might be more focused on self-promotion within the organization. This dynamic reinforces biases, as leaders (both men and women) continue to think of women for these roles. We all need to be aware of these patterns so we can change them, ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to thrive in their careers. ❔ Have you seen this happen in your organization? I’d love to hear your thoughts or examples – especially if your team has found ways to break this cycle! #genderbiases #women #stereotypes #inclusivity

International Sales Leader | Technology Enthusiast | Go-To-Market Strategies | Transformational Leadership
Today marks International Women's Day, a day to honor and reflect on the incredible women who have been pillars of strength and inspiration in my life. This includes my courageous mother, my incredible wife, insightful women professors, visionary managers, and dedicated team members. Each has played a pivotal role in shaping my journey. It's easy to overlook the complex roles that women undertake as mothers, sisters, wives, and girlfriends. Their efforts, often unseen, are the foundation of both families and communities. For those women who also pursue careers, especially in challenging fields like IT, the journey is even more arduous. They navigate stereotypes and advocate for equality in an industry where biases still exist. Despite advancements, we live in a world that continues to differentiate on the basis of gender. Today, let us acknowledge the challenges faced by women, celebrate their accomplishments, and strive towards a more inclusive future. Let’s honor the resilience, perseverance, and achievements of women everywhere who are breaking barriers and forging a path towards progress and equality. At HPE, we are committed to embodying the principles of equity, opportunity, and inclusion for all. "Unconditional inclusion" at HPE is not just a phrase—it is our core responsibility as a global leader. We are dedicated to accelerating equity by nurturing and promoting our female talent. Our goal is to support women around the world and be a force for good in the communities we serve. To all the inspiring women in my life and across the globe: your influence is profound, and today, we celebrate you. Your resilience, leadership, and spirit light the way forward. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #WomenInTech #EqualityForAll #HPE

International Women’s Day is recognized globally on March 8 every year. The theme this year is “Inspire Inclusion”. This year’s campaign theme challenges us to examine barriers, stereotypes, and environments fostering or inhibiting inclusion in our organizations. It also asks us how we create environments where women, especially those from marginalized or underrepresented groups, feel valued and respected. How are you including education initiatives, mentorship programs, and advocacy campaigns that create spaces for women to thrive, overcome obstacles, and achieve their full potential? How are you promoting diversity in leadership and forging inclusive workplaces? What does it mean to truly inspire inclusion, and how is your organization aligned with this? Women can be empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential by providing support and resources. Working together to break down barriers and foster diversity can build a more equitable and inclusive society for future generations. https://lnkd.in/eHfiAf-B #iwd2024 #healthyaging #women #womenempowerment #inclusion #albertaseniors
