Just because something is spoofed by "Saturday Night Live," it doesn't make it "successful" or "a surprise hit." Personally, I hate this AMC pre-roll. It's contrived, overly indulgent and too dramatic. The last time I saw this, I leaned over to my wife and whispered, "What marketing exec approved this garbage?" She agreed. I can't connect with an award-winning actor sitting alone in a theater spouting trite lines, but I really did connect with the Regal pre-roll where ordinary people attending and working at a movie theater communicate solely in recognizable movie dialogue. And there it is. #Connection. That's the key to making #communications resonate with audiences. Can they see themselves in the story you're telling? Can they identify ways they can participate and contribute? Or are you talking at the highest level and filling your comms with buzzwords and high-minded concepts they can't relate to?
