Aspiring job seekers, fueled by hope and ambition, perused the myriad opportunities laid out before them, each one a stepping stone towards a brighter future. What made this event truly special was the meticulous organization led by the students themselves. With surgical precision and unwavering dedication, they orchestrated every detail, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants. Their passion and hard work shone through, setting a shining example for all who witnessed their efforts. The atmosphere was electric, with happy faces and a palpable sense of excitement filling the air. The campus buzzed with energy and possibility, as dreams took flight and aspirations soared. It was a joy to behold, a celebration of potential and promise. As we eagerly await the final tally of job offers extended, our hearts swell with optimism. Sometimes, a single phrase has the power to completely transform the way we see our journey. Yesterday, at the Job Fair organised by CPA Ontario and ACCES Employment, I experienced that firsthand. It’s incredible how a simple message can shift your perspective, opening doors to new possibilities and igniting a deeper sense of purpose. One of those defining moments came from Ron Monteiro, CPA, CMA’s, where he shared invaluable lessons on the power of a growth mindset, the art of storytelling, and the importance of listening. But what struck me most was his message about persistence and resilience. He said, “Go for No.” It wasn’t just about hearing “no”; it was about using each “no” as fuel to keep going, to push through until you reach that “yes” that can change everything. This idea resonated deeply with me. It’s not about avoiding failure - it’s about learning from it, about being brave enough to tell your story and bold enough to keep going, even when the road gets tough. Sometimes, the most powerful connections are made when we dare to persist, to listen more intently, and to keep pushing forward despite the setbacks. As a career, or pursuit of study, financial services and planning, should be considered, strongly. No doubt, it takes aptitude and attitude, to make a go of it in the financial services profession. But. Such a career can also afford you a certain level of independence, and latitude, not to mention performance-based earnings, that should not be dismissed out of hand. At the very least, gaining, or improving, one's personal knowledge base on financial planning issues is incredibly helpful. And then, the prospect of being able to offer others, well-researched, well-presented, recommendations, that can help secure, or at least solidify, their financial future, can turn a job, into a vocation, highly valued.

Today, I had the immense honor of being a guest speaker at the University of West London’s career fair. It was a truly exhilarating experience to share my life story, from my educational pursuits at UWL and King’s College London to the bold step of launching a business during the uncertain times of the pandemic, and embarking on an exciting journey as a financial analyst, marking the promising beginning of my career. 🗣️ During my talk, I highlighted several key principles: Goals as Your Guiding Star: In both academia and the professional world, goals are essential. They serve as our compass, directing us towards success and fulfillment. The Power of Planning and Structure: Meticulous planning and a well-defined structure breathe life into your goals. Without them, a goal remains a mere aspiration. Consistency and Repetition: These are the pillars of achievement. It is through persistent effort and unwavering dedication that goals are transformed into accomplishments. Self-Competition for Growth: Embrace healthy competition with yourself. This mindset fosters tremendous self-improvement and ignites an unrelenting drive to achieve greater heights. Never Give Up: The importance of perseverance cannot be overstated.
