Episode 3 tapes tonight and will be aired next week. Kenneth Richards will be our guest to discuss environmental economics and policy models. Dr. Richards regularly advises internationally and domestically on these topics, has a background in engineering and law, and is always a lot of fun to speak with. He and I first met last year when he advised on a cumulative impacts model that I developed and spoke on our panel at the NAEP Annual Conference in Phoenix. #environmentalpolicy #environmentaleconomics #climatechange #environmentaljustice #environmentaleducation

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I'm thrilled to announce that our research article, "What Law Does Not Understand About Public Participation," co-authored with Maria Alina Radulescu and Prof. Lorenzo Squintani, has just been published in the Heliyon Journal. In our paper, we delve into the vital role of public participation in the development and implementation of energy projects and climate policies. We analyze three major regulatory approaches: the Aarhus Convention, the Escazú Agreement, and Impact and Benefits Agreements, comparing their effectiveness in incorporating social science insights on public participation. Our findings highlight the challenges and potential improvements needed to bridge the gap between legal frameworks and effective public engagement. This research is particularly important as it addresses the intersection of law and social sciences, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of public participation in environmental decision-making processes. You can access the full article here <https://lnkd.in/efKQUg8v > A big thank you to my co-authors and everyone who supported this research journey! #Research #PublicParticipation #EnvironmentalLaw #ClimatePolicy #AcademicPublication #Heliyon #CellPress #UniversityOfGroningen
