All sports lovers will surely be shocked and surprised after reading the headlines of this news. The podium-finished player’s father could have demanded a better coach, training, and infra facilities for future events, rather than being more inclined toward money, which shows his greediness. It is certainly not a good sign for sports and sports lovers. It seems that Swapnil Kusale’s father’s main motto is to encash the success of his son’s success in quadrennial sports events rather than upliftment of the game. The sports ministry should break its silence on this matter, and take suo motu cognizance. It should make a robust and uniform award policy across the nation as far as honouring the players. At present the different state governments honour the players of their states by awarding them cash prizes, land, houses/flats, jobs, etc.). It is the description of the state government. Obviously, people will start comparing the awards received by the players. Award policy should vary on solo performance and team games. However, the bitter truth is, that money is the bottom line of everything. What are your takes here? Disclaimer- The views expressed are personal.

Since sports betting became legal in many states, Americans spent $14 billion on bets in January 2024 alone. The study found these key takeaways: 🏈 For every $1 spent on sports betting, people are pulling $2 out of their investments. 🏈 Households in financial trouble are more likely to bet on sports This study highlights the potential for legalized betting to exacerbate financial hardship, especially in communities already under financial stress. Founder of East Goes Global | Connecting Talent, Brands, and Sports with Chinese consumers globally | Forbes 30u30
When you hear the footsteps... 🌏 The NBA’s return to China is more than just a game; it’s a signal of renewed global engagement and growth opportunities. Commissioner #AdamSilver recently expressed optimism about staging games in China again, highlighting how important this market is today and for the league's future. As Matthew Spalter (Head of Growth) put it... "Seeing this from Adam Silver is a huge deal. We've been seeing demand grow from Chinese fans and the market for years through our work with the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, and more. Now that this is coming from the commissioner, it's clear the NBA is taking notice and planning a league-wide approach to reprioritize its second-largest market." At East Goes Global, we’re already seeing this excitement firsthand. We recently brought the Suns to China, even some of the biggest names in basketball—#LukaDoncic, #JaysonTatum, #ZionWilliamson, #PaoloBanchero, and Stephen Curry have all been to China recently. From top executives to the players on the court, the enthusiasm for reestablishing a strong presence in China is undeniable. The NBA's commitment to its values and global expansion strategy aligns perfectly with what we strive for every day at East Goes Global: connecting talent, brands, and sports with the world of China... We're playin' basketballllllll 🏀
