A central theme of the SPARCS project is identifying the best tools to involve different resident segments, with a strong focus on co-creating management and planning models alongside companies, partners, research organisations, and residents. The Buddy Class activities connect schools with principles of sustainable development, equipping young people to adopt sustainable lifestyle practices and contribute to future city development. The insights gained from these activities are now compiled into a comprehensive guide, available for use in development projects aimed at engaging young people. Young people can't be what they can't see. Meaningful Futures came a very close runner up in the public vote for Plus X Innovation's 🌟Change-Makers🌟 award in September 2024! So wonderful to get such support and encouragement from everyone. I've had so many people tell me how important this work is. Why Meaningful Futures? 🌍 Young people today face an uncertain future. Meaningful Futures is here to change that. 🌍 Young people are leaving education facing:  💔 A Meaning Crisis: Mental health struggles are at an all-time high.  📉 An Employability Crisis: A growing skills gap leaves many unprepared.  🌍 A Climate Crisis: Rising inequalities and environmental challenges loom large. ➡️ **60% of young people say the future for their generation is frightening.** **The Problem**  Students and teachers say the current curriculum, employability and well-being support in college is:  ❌ Out-dated.  ❌ Underfunded.  ❌ Inadequate for today’s challenges. **Our Solution**  Young people can’t be what they can’t see. So, our Training Programme connects young people with the tools, experiences, and insights to make a meaningful future possible for all. Creating student accommodation with a strong sense of community is often seen as the holy grail for universities and private operators. But could fostering tight-knit communities sometimes come at the expense of diversity? Research shows that accommodations with the strongest sense of community often lack diversity. International students, LGBTQIA+, and other specific cohorts appear to feel safer and happier living with peers who share their background. Should room allocations focus on creating these safe, comfortable environments? Or do we risk missing the opportunity to prepare students for the diverse realities of life beyond university?
