🗓️ June 14: ASM Microbe Conference 2024 📍 Location: Atlanta, GA 📑 Session: “Novel plant-derived bioactive compounds shape the human gut microbiome in vitro” Our understanding of the #microbiome is evolving rapidly, and its importance to our overall health cannot be overstated. Last week, I had the honour of representing the exposomics perspective at a seminar on microsampling as a novel avenue for metabolomics and exposomics in precision health. This event, hosted by SciLifeLab and the Nordic Metabolomics Society at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, provided a valuable platform to present my research on the chemical background of various microsamplers and to engage in discussions about the evolving applications of microsampling in both metabolomics and exposomics. The seminar also featured the introduction of new microsamplers and the presentation of innovative approaches for multi-omics on microsamples.   My key take-home messages from the event:      • The market is seeing an increasing number of devices, making it crucial to carefully select the appropriate microsampler for each study.     • Conducting stability studies on microsamplers is essential to ensure accurate results.      • Pre-spiking microsamplers with suitable internal standards shows promise for accounting for losses during at-home sampling and shipping.   I am looking forward to continue contributing to the advancement of microsampling in exposomics.
