We welcome the recent announcement of an increase in funding for the EEDPP-HE programme to fund further pathfinder initiatives to support the HE sector in meeting energy efficiency and decarbonisation targets. As illustrated in the 2024 IUA Report on Climate Action Roadmap Delivery (https://lnkd.in/eAx92S_E) the cost of decarbonisation across IUA universities is approximately €475m and increased Exchequer funding will be critical if universities are to meet their 2030 decarbonisation targets. As per our election manifesto priorities (https://lnkd.in/erxHGw5Z) we are calling on the incoming government to commit to delivering a dedicated HE decarbonisation fund to support universities in meeting their decarbonisation targets. #HigherEd #University #Funding #Climate #Decarbonisation #Target Dublin City University, Technological University Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, Higher Education Authority, Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, Patrick O'Donovan TD
