How SANY is Building a Sustainable Supply Chain In an interview with LinkedIn China several weeks ago, I was asked how SANY is building a sustainable supply chain. Today, I want to share more details about our approach and efforts.   At SANY, actually we work with thousands of suppliers worldwide, spanning both production and non-production categories. Ensuring the stability and healthy development of this vast supply chain is crucial for our sustainable growth. Here's how we do it:   1.  Rigorous Supplier Review - Before onboarding, we thoroughly evaluate candidates' social responsibility and environmental qualifications, including business ethics, employee management, health, safety, and environmental practices, energy conservation, and resource efficiency. This process involves not just paperwork but also on-site inspections to assess labor practices, corporate culture, and employee satisfaction.   2.  Digitalized Risk Control - To enhance our supply chain's resilience, we use big data and intelligent algorithms to build a systematic and standardized supplier risk control framework. This allows us to proactively identify and mitigate risks, issue timely warnings, respond and track efficiently.   3.  Mutual Empowerment - Achieving a mutually beneficial supply chain ecosystem requires close collaboration with the whole value chain partners. In 2023, SANY organized training camps for 231 new suppliers and helped 56 suppliers improve quality while reducing costs. Dear Partners, I recently read in an article that the duty of a manager is to be present in all parts of the team at once. First, to be at the front, showing direction. Second, to be right in the middle, deep inside, to ensure that the direction is right. And third, to be at the back, helping everyone to keep up the speed and not loose direction. I believe this is a good principle to follow. 2023 was a very successful year for Vahterus. Our turnover growth was 38%, the highest ever during our 32 years of operation, and profitability figures were also very positive, thanks to our team and to you, our dear partners. We found many talented new employees and grew our team significantly across all sections. In addition, the order book is at an all-time high. In Finland, the year started in a less positive way concerning the relationships between employee unions and parliament. We’ve had very severe strikes that have harmed the whole of business – especially, and unfortunately, the exports. The strikes have made doing business with you more difficult, but it now finally looks as if they will be settled soon. We continue to invest in growth. Next month, Vahterus will start building a new welding and assembly hall of over 5,000 m2 – our biggest investment yet, with the aim to double our production capacity. This is one step in our strategy of growing our production and operations, with a 200 million euro target.
