Awesome news - CLO recently passed yet another audit, with flying colours! Our Child and Youth Services division had robustly positive results in its very first quality assessment conducted by ASES (Australian Service Excellence Standards), a national certification body that evaluates the performance and impact of community organisations. According to the Lead Auditor, Community Living Options is a mature, fearless, and innovative organisation (and we can’t express how humbled we are by this compliment!) 😍 As stated in the auditing feedback, we were also perceived as having: ✅ A supportive environment for growth ✅ A healthy and transparent culture with simple, direct communication ✅ Clear succession planning with exceptional leadership and board ✅ Clarity of purpose, where CLO’s Youth workers strongly understand our mission ✅ Impressive embedding of risk and quality across all levels ✅ Outstanding integration of human rights in our processes ✅ A genuine culture of quality and transparency. Those results were only possible because our Child and Youth Services was able to tap into CLO's 40+ years of experience in the disability sector, building and testing evidence-based frameworks to provide excellence in person-centred support services. A round of applause to our dedicated CYS people, who are the driving motor behind those impressive outcomes. Their daily hard work and unwavering commitment to supporting children and young people create an impact beyond words. Go Team CLO! 🙌 #ChildAndYouthServices #YouthWorkers #AuditSuccess #TeamWork #CommunityLivingOptions

Let's talk about Privilege... 'A special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group.' The key word here is granted as opposed to earned. To have privilege, is to hold certain advantages based upon a characteristic or status. Throughout our lives, while our characteristics can remain unchanged, our status can evolve. I'm an example of that and my work now helps me use my 'new earned privilege' to help others find bespoke solutions to combat the obstacles created by concepts that stand in the way of EDI. In the workplace, privilege can exist in many forms: salary, promotional opportunities and the day-to-day treatment of colleagues, amongst other things. While privilege cannot be avoided, it is often an underlying root of workplace inequalities. We all hold a responsibility to reduce the effects of privilege within our workplace if we wish EDI to flourish. But, how do we better understand, measure and combat the 'unearned power of privilege' to foster equitable and inclusive workplaces? At Diversity+, in collaboration with the The Law Society of Scotland we created the 'calculator of privilege', an interactive tool to help us understand and measure privilege with the aim to then challenge and find solutions to combat it. The tool has been created specifically with the wider Scottish legal sector in mind but it can be adapted for other industries, individual organisations and teams. If you'd like to learn more, book a demonstration and discuss how it can be used for your workplace EDI journey, please reach out to us: ➡ hello@diversityplus.info ➡ https://lnkd.in/dwJiC7em ➡ or DM me on this platform #diversityandinclusion #privilege #legalprofession #womeninlaw #privilege #change #leadership

Award-Winning Strategic Lead in Equality Diversity Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging. SME in Talent Management; Author; C-suite facilitator; Hays' Recruitment Global Leader; Judges’ Chair @ RIDI, #DisabilityPower100
I have left HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd a number of weeks ago but I cannot help but feel huge pride in the results of the #EDI work that took place in the last financial year, as the senior lead in #Equality #Diversity and #Inclusion This fantastic report truly showcases how to "do" EDI with fantastic case studies throughout: * #Leadership championing the EDI cause * The incredible work of our eight #StaffNetworks * Self-reporting on #DiversityPayGaps * Inclusive #recruitment and #hiring processes * Our work to diversify our leadership through #CareerProgression * Retaining our #DisabilityConfident #Leadership status * Achieving the Inclusive Environments Recognition Certificate from the Construction Industry Council * 86% of local communities advocacy service users along the route reporting they are very satisfied with the service * Last but not least, retaining our Clear Assured #Platinum status top accreditation in #Diversity #Equity and #Inclusion by The Clear Company All of this taking place in tough circumstances, under heavy scrutiny and undergoing continuous #change as huge national infrastructure projects do. If you are interested in getting EDI right, I know I am biased, but THIS is how it's done! I am very much looking forward to bringing this expertise and know-how to my next new venture. A #ShoutOut to all the people who made this possible - it will be really difficult as there's so many of them and I will surely forget too many names but I'll try: Pamela McInroy OSITA MADU Louise Darkwah Neil Smith MRTPI NRAC Consultant Cedric Krummes 🌷 Rosamund Seal MARIA ANGELES AQUILINO Natalie Rose Bridget Badoe McQuick(Tech IOSH) David Baker Ian Edmunds Sindi Kaur Larry Cork Elena Argirova, Assoc CIPD Janice Marks Alan Foster Huw Edwards (he/him) BEng CEng MICE MCIHT RPP MAPM FPWI Meredith Boden Yohan Udunuwara James Gray John Holmes Demi Korontzi-Deakin BSc MSc AMICE Dr. Sonia Zahiroddiny Thomas Crosby Stephen Leigh Sue Heath Andrew Mullinex Sarah Goodburn Barry Connolly Natalie Penrose Karen Davis and many many others #ThankYou #Gratitude #Journey (photo description in alt+ text) https://lnkd.in/eVrYQhVD
