10 reasons to be a Geologist

1 geologist + 1 geologist = 2 geologists, right? Wrong. In the last 20 years I’ve been lucky enough to work with many groups (big and small) who have recognised the paramount importance of skills transfer - placing old hands with young ones, analytical brains with intuitive ones, commercial with technical (and the CEO with anyone who’ll put up with them for more than a few hours). It isn’t just ‘esprit de corps’ - it makes us all fundamentally better at our jobs, and our businesses more competitive - we become greater than the sum of our parts. I’ve just had the privilege of spending the last week on one of our projects in Norway with two of our most exciting technical talents; Karel Maly, PGeo, EurGeol and Colm Long, P.Geo.
