Governor Josh Shapiro will join other legislators and industry leaders as a headliner for Pittsburgh’s AI Horizons Summit, this October. The event will take place on ‘AI Avenue’ – the one-mile stretch Walnut Capital has redeveloped as a corridor to Bakery Square, where large tech companies like Google and Duolingo hold offices. It is set to be part of a city-wide ‘tech week’, organized by the mayor’s office to elevate Pittsburgh’s position as a technology hub. Earlier this year, Shapiro designated technology as one of five investment priorities in his 10-year plan for Pennsylvania, signaling his interest in further developing the region’s unique assets and resources. Laurie Segall, the correspondent who will moderate Shapiro’s portion of the summit, has affirmed this effect, with her comment, “As we head into a presidential election where Pennsylvania will play a crucial role in shaping democracy, a Pittsburgh-led movement that prioritizes human-centric AI innovation is crucial.” As an organization founded by the ambition of fusing responsibility and emerging technology, PART greatly anticipates and appreciates such events for their potential to provide a space for dynamic conversation and forward-looking thought. We look forward to joining the conversation in October and are optimistic about the future partnerships it will lay the groundwork for. https://lnkd.in/d23nWUcv Want to learn more about 'AI Avenue'? While we are inundated with reports and posts on the impacts of GenAI, a very thorough and insightful report came out from The Burning Glass Institute and SHRM. It focused on workforce disruptions and opportunities expected from GenAI. It provides occupational impact projections by industry and role. They also acknowledge its very hard to predict precise impacts. It also talks about areas where GenAI augments existing roles. I like that focus...how to take advantage of the capabilities being rolled out now. It reinforces my opinion that figuring out how to use GenAI in your current operations will help you figure out how to prepare for impacts down the line. Finally, I think one trend is clear, if you want to do more yourself, you can (think marketing and coding to name just two). Here is the landing page to download the report: #ai, #aiforgood, #nonprofits https://lnkd.in/e7BrtXfF

A validation study on our AI Persona outputs for MMR proprietary consumer segments. Consumer preference data were collected and 4 key segments were established. The data behind each segment were analysed and extracted in an automated pipeline that encapsulates MMR analyst expertise, then used to construct AI Personas representing each segment. Partnering with Gosh! Food we asked our AI Personas questions on the development of new products while simultaneously collecting results from real consumers in the chosen segment for this study. Results indicate that the responses generated by our AI Personas are largely in agreement with the measured consumer responses opening up many possibilities for optimising consumer research by utilising these tools. The results are by no means perfect, however the added value in the research pipeline is clear. Further improvements can be achieved through incorporating specific project data from historical studies as well as further developments coming soon to the personas pipeline.
Are AI personas a viable tool for early-stage R&D ideation? I'm so looking forward to co-presenting with Jake Schneider of Gosh!
