🚀 It's been a long time in the making but thrilled to announce the launch of the Summit Nutrition Network! It began with the hunt for a platform where nutrition professionals could connect, develop, learn and support each other all in one space. After not being able to find a space that fit each criteria, I decided to embark on building it. Take a look at the 6 minute video in the post below for more details but here is the synopsis: 1. Next Gen Platform - built on Circle, this community can host live events, has general/exclusive/direct messaging communication capability, can host files of various types, and has a robust course platform. It's all-in-one. 2. Summit Nutrition Network is a for profit business - I've ran and been a part of organizations built on volunteer work, this is not that. Revenue generated goes directly to creators and moderators on the platform. Any work done for Summit is paid. If we don't value our time and expertise, how can we expect others to. 3. Incredible creators - We've hired an A-Team of creators and moderators that have done incredible work the past two months to get Summit where it is now. Shoutout to Matthew R. Frakes, PhD, RD, LDN, CSCS, ISAK-2, Ryleigh Scott, Lynne Hebert, RD, Ross Ferrell, Ross Shumway RD, Sophie Pomrehn, DaVianna Robinson, MS, Nick Farrell, RD, MS, MS, CSCS, and my amazing wife Emily Zorn. We are only getting started. If this mission speaks to you, reach out and let's get you involved! This is just the beginning of a community built on putting down our walls, realizing we don't have to be on an island, and collectively working to increase our value as nutrition professionals. Together, we can do difficult things and strive for our Summit #WeClimbMountains
🎉 Exciting Announcement: Summit Nutrition Network Launches Globally! 🌐 Today marks a pivotal moment in sports nutrition as we officially unveil the Summit Nutrition Network - a vibrant, global community of sports dietitians and athlete-facing professionals dedicated to redefining the way we collaborate and drive change within our field. Our mission is clear: Connect, Educate, Develop, and Amplify. We're here to bridge connections across continents, equip our members with the latest educational resources, support their professional development, and amplify the incredible work being done in sports nutrition. By challenging the status quo, we are creating a space that’s anything but ordinary. Our network is built on the power of community, striving to make every interaction an opportunity to inspire and be inspired. From workshops that sharpen your skills to discussions that spark innovation, we're fostering an environment that encourages every member to grow, evolve, and contribute to the collective success. We stand for more than just individual achievement; we're a collective force pushing towards a unified goal. With Summit, you're not just joining a network; you're becoming part of a movement that values evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and community support. Ready to join us on this journey? Let's climb this mountain together - because when one of us grows, we all reach new heights. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gCXZC35c #SummitNutritionNetwork #WeClimbMountains #SportsNutrition #ProfessionalDevelopment #Empowerment #Innovation #CommunityBuilding

With 25 years experience, I have helped countless individuals achieve their health and performance goals. I hold a PhD in Nutrition Education and have contributed to the field of nutrition through my published research.
The Olympic Games is unlike many other sports competitions as both genders compete together unlike many others sports. Women competed for this first time at the Paris 1900 games. There were 22 women competing across five sports. The total number of athletes was 997. On almost the eve of the Paris 2024 games we will see 10,500 athletes compete with full gender parity in terms of number of athletes. This review which was presented The Nutrition Society meeting 2023 aims to summarise the current sports nutrition literature and highlight research that seeks to understand and address where gaps are in several key areas in sports nutrition. And to make several recommendations that can impact advice and practice for both male and female athletes. https://lnkd.in/eEiaxtwF

UK AfN Registered Nutritionist, Bilingual (JP-EN), currently pursuing IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition
【Finally official Sports Nutritionist registration! But this is not the end】 I couldn’t bite it because it's paper, not the medal. But otherwise I would! After 4 years since graduation from King’s, my UK registration as a nutritionist from Association for Nutrition got an expert title in Sports & Exercise. Thank you so much for my mentors who have been providing me unwavering support. Every country has a different system of healthcare professional registration. When I was in the UK, I was exposed to a clear differentiation between Nutritionist and Dietitian. Basically, “who should provide nutrition guidance to whom”. Are you at the hospital? Dietitians will be the ones to diagnose and treat you. Outside the hospital? Nutritionists are the ones who provide nutrition guidance since that’s their expertise, outside clinical scope. Of course there are many other cases, but this is the most simplified overview. This is why it's important to collaborate with each other. Just like any other healthcare/medical field, nutrition science is tricky because the evidence or theory we thought is true today could change over time. Getting registered after showing knowledge and capability doesn’t mean everything, because continuous learning as a professional is required. This paper is like a marriage certificate to me - “I, Yuri Nemoto, do take this profession to live together, to take it seriously, and to never stop learning from new sport nutrition literature. #RNutr #AfN #SportsNutrition

One, two, three strikes your out!🥕💦💤🥣⚾⛽ If you are an athlete or coach, you know the importance of nutrition for performance. Yet, a staggering 70% of coaches and youth athletes cannot answer a general nutrition question correctly. This is where Dawn Weatherwax’s Sports Nutrition Academy (DWSNA) steps in, helping athletes to fuel their bodies and minds effectively. The academy is committed to providing trusted and expert advice on sports nutrition, with a fun and informative approach. Dawn Weatherwax, RD, LD, ATC, CSCS, is the driving force behind the academy. She emphasizes that nutrition is a science, and one should look for RD, RDN, or CSSD credentials when seeking specific nutrition guidance. DWSNA recently introduced the Cheerios Team Challenge, an initiative to educate and engage athletes about nutrition. Participants are encouraged to eat Cheerios, take a picture, use the hashtag #cheeriosteamchallenge, and post it on their social media profiles tagging @sportsnutritiontogo. The Cheerios Team Challenge goes beyond just fun. It's about understanding the science of nutrition and how it can significantly improve athletic performance. Take, for example, the success stories of athletes who have benefitted from DWSNA's programs. They've gained weight, increased their speed and velocity, improved their pop-up times, and even made it to college sports teams. One athlete managed to grow six inches and gained 25lb, consuming an average of 3500-4000 calories per day. Another athlete lost 20lb of body fat and increased his speed by 9 mph, securing a place in a college team. Yet another gained 20lb and improved his speed, making him faster and more competitive for college sports.
