Shockingly, five in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer in sub-Saharan Africa today will not be here in five years’ time. One of the key factors at play is that approximately 60-70% of women are diagnosed when their cancer is in late stage. Delayed diagnosis has catastrophic consequences, making chances of survival much lower. It’s International Day of Action for Women’s Health and we’re reaffirming our commitment to improving women’s health and wellbeing across Africa. By working together in public-private partnerships, we can help to tackle stigma and support the infrastructure needed to increase early screening and diagnosis of breast cancer throughout Africa, so that no woman is forgotten. #BreastCancer #May28 #RocheAfrica

Blood Transfusion plays a significantly vital role in the healthcare sector. Blood transfusion is needed for Thalassemia patients. It is required by patients undergoing cancer treatment. In maternity-healthcare facilities, it is required for women who undergo complications in pregnancies. Also, incase of calamity, such as earthquakes, and traumas, blood transfusion has a critical role. We should all try to donate blood, whenever possible. And encourage others to do so as well.
