What is the ideal #pressure drop for #Plate HEX in HVAC applications? Consider below two alternatives each 4 MW and the difference is only 4kW in #pumping #cost, so little to pay for a Plate HEX that stays #clean longer, with a pressure drop of 50kPa instead of 20kPa. Interesting perspective on pressure drop in HVAC HEX units, Ismail! Fouling is not something that initially many people consider. This definitely highlights the importance of optimizing design for long-term cost-effectiveness. Many people might choose even a larger heat transfer area than necessary to prevent fouling but this will reduce pressure drop even more and the result will be the opposite :Lower turbulence means Fouling and Lower Efficiency. It's important to find the right balance between initial cost, pumping costs, efficiency and maintenance needs. Trust the experts! 😊
Brilliant presentation of what more customers need to hear! Well done sir!
