Today I talked to global audience about the systems thinking, portfolio approach and circular economy as part of UNDP's Portfolios in Practice Series. It was interesting to se how different countries with different contexts and environments face similar challenges when implementing systemic development approaches. Mybe we can use it to learn quicker and scale up better, which is at the center of portfolio approach anyhow. #circulareconomy #systemsthinking #innovation #undp

In today's global landscape, sustainable development is paramount. Organizations like the World Bank, AIIB, IFC, ADB and JICA play a crucial role in fostering this sustainability through their robust Environment and Social Frameworks. One critical aspect within these frameworks is Grievance Redressal. Addressing grievances effectively ensures that the voices of all stakeholders are heard and respected throughout project implementation, leading to more inclusive and impactful outcomes. As we navigate complex environmental and social challenges, it's imperative to strengthen our mechanisms for addressing grievances. By fostering transparent communication channels and implementing responsive procedures, we can enhance accountability and promote trust among communities, project proponents, and regulatory bodies. . Let's continue to collaborate and innovate towards a world where every voice matters, and where development leaves no one behind. Together, we can build a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow. #SustainableDevelopment #Environment #SocialSafeguards #GrievanceRedressal #GlobalCollaboration

The 3G 2024 in themed to explore the relationship between Good Governance and the UN’s SDGs. Accordingly, its first chapter underscores the importance of Good Governance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Having missed the mid-term goals of the SDGs’ Vision 2030, the chapter attempts to estimate the cost of achieving the SDGs at a later date. To quote a UN economist “The estimated cost of achieving the SDGs 2030 Vision, factoring in 50 SDG indicators across 90 countries is between US$5.4 trillion and US$6.4 trillion per year. This cost rises to US$6.9 trillion and US$7.6 trillion per year if all developing economies are factored in.”. This mammoth cost estimate presents impossibilities which the chapter attempts to reconcile. One, the cost can be reduced given countries focus on the social SDGs and can be brought-down bringing the SDGs within sight. The emphasis on social SDGs empowers the constituent parts of a real economy; real economy being the mediary grounds relating good governance with the SDGs. With this context the chapter presents a comparison of the governance indicators of the G7 countries, BRICS countries and the WB categorised developing countries and relates it to their comparable efforts directed towards achieving the SDGs. Read the chapter to find SDG focused preferences of countries and the targets achieved so far. A fascinating policy brief from the UNDP on how Digital Transformation is key in achieving development outcomes and why measuring RoI is important. Interestingly, the importance (and complexities) of measuring RoI are just as applicable for business as they are for the development sector. #digitaltransformation #undp #digitalbusinesstransformation

🌿 UNDP's flagship work on an SDG Push - anchored in a research collaboration with University of Denver Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures - was published in Sustainability MDPI this week. 💡 Our collaboration explored the impact of #COVID19 on the #SDGs, where we asked: what if we pursued and implemented a combination of policy choices that advance fair and flourishing futures? Can the creation of these futures through 2050 inspire better policy choices today? 📍 We continue to build national and local applications and policy tools for an SDG Push with this same intent - to leverage data innovation, systems approaches and futures methods to zero on the #SDG options and pathways for people and planet. #sdgintegration Marcos Neto Jonathan Moyer Babatunde Abidoye Barry Hughes Taylor Hanna George Gray Molina Ulrika Modeer Anjali Kwatra Javier Bronfman H., Ph.D. Frederick Mugisha Gonzalo Pizarro L., Ph.D. Cassie Flynn Pradeep Kurukulasuriya Riad Meddeb Sarah Lister Arvinn E. 🌍🚀 Recent conference on transforming governance for the SDGs: We're setting our sights high with the Trillion Dollar Moonshot initiative, but it's not just about gathering funds. It's a call for a collective effort involving governments, private sectors, and communities to join forces and resources in achieving the #SDGs. 🌱💼 The gap of achieving Agenda 2030 is wide – a $4 trillion annual investment deficit in developing countries. But we're innovating with solutions like SDG budget tagging and blended finance, which mix public and private investments, creating more impact. Plus, green bonds, social bonds, and sustainability bonds are reshaping how we fund a sustainable future. 🌟 Coming soon: The Western Balkans SDG Finance Academy - a focused exploration into innovative financing solutions supporting the SDGs. #UNDP #SDGs #SustainableDevelopment #Finance #Innovation #Collaboration #WesternBalkansSDGFinanceAcademy #TrillionDollarMoonshot

ICT Policy & Digital Governance Adviser, PROSIVU - DT-Global seconded to TIC Timor I.P. (National ICT Agency of Timor-Leste)
This is excellent! A comprehensive guide for digital transformation agents.
Strategic Communications and Outreach at UNDP / Ex Board of Directors at Association for Change Management Professionals
As part of our #digitaltransformation, UNDP created a set of 10 digital standards to guide our work, led by Nic Holden. ➡ By aligning the organization around common definitions of what ‘good’ looks like, we can ensure that digital solutions are used effectively, efficiently and ethically to support the #SDGs. ➡ By setting minimum quality expectations for digital solutions developed by UNDP, the digital standards serve as learning objectives for our global teams. Happy to share them as they may help others think through the process of implementing digital solutions for social impact: https://lnkd.in/e8FysSdQ.
