🚀 Unlocking the Power of Internships: Why a Dedicated University Internship Office Matters 🚀As I reflect upon our first year here at Old Dominion University, I know that our new mission to assist every #ODU student in obtaining an internship or other work based learning experience is absolutely the right one at the right time. Here in #2024 the post-COVID labor market has undergone significant changes and our students need to know how to compete and flourish in this market. The ODU Monarch Internship Office faculty and staff are working to make sure that our students are prepared for the next leg of their journey after graduation! Students receive expert guidance and support for not only landing internships but thriving in their experience. They receive a vast array of networking opportunities, centralized resources for a smoother process and through our zero credit offerings, an internship experience integrated into academic transcripts. Faculty receive enhanced collaboration for internship program development, support for integrating experiential learning into curricula, and opportunities for industry partnerships and research. For employers, we collaborate to design internship programs tailored to specific needs, promoting a "best fit". Building this type of lasting relationship taps into continuous streams of talent, ensuring a pipeline of qualified candidates for future #hiring needs. Some of our interns actually created their internships and pitched it to the organization. You can do that, too! Or come meet with our Career Coaches to gain their expertise about what's already out there and available to you.
