🚢 Important Update for Capesize Vessels! 🚢 Effective from 1st Jan 2025, all Capesize vessels (nominal deadweight > 120,000) are to be fitted with a minimum of one (1) Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) rudder camera installed at the steering gear flat, positioned in such a way that clearly captures the rudder angles during manoeuvring. A monitor must be placed on the wheelhouse in the proximity of coning positions, providing real-time visual CCTV camera feedback of the rudder angle for Marine Pilot/bridge team reference during the transit to/from berth. It's a wrap! 📸 Behind-the-scenes glimpses of our shoot. Yesterday, we had the incredible opportunity to film our Heavy Weight Deflectometer (HWD) in action at Lolland Falster Airport. Teaming up with Zoom Film and our incredible Dynatest team, we created some fantastic footage and stunning video of our HWD operating on the runway. At the same time, we also managed to help Lolland Falster Airport measure the Pavement Classification Number (PCN). The PCN shows the load-carrying capacity of the pavement for unrestricted operations. 👉 Did you know that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has introduced a new classification ACR/PCR which will take effect in November 2024? By using this new ACR/PCR classification, airports can improve their maintenance operations and enhance safety. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: ✈️ The HWD can simulate Extreme Aircraft Loads and the data output gives accurate mechanistic-empirical analysis. 📊 Regular measurements help identify weak spots, cracks, or other forms of distress in the pavement. This ensures timely maintenance and prevents catastrophic failures. 📈 Quality Control is essential for QA/QC of newly built pavements on runways, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Just published: "Analysis of noise distributions at heliports and vertiports: A guide for site selection and land use planning" Link: https://lnkd.in/gnBUXt7Y This is a piece of our efforts to be prepared for AAM and eVTOLs from a land use compatibility standpoint. The two key components for developing land use guidelines are safety and noise. This marries with our previous vertiport/heliport safety study. We will now move forward with working with other planners and agencies to develop land use compatibility guidelines for vertiports and heliports, adding this to our existing documentation.
