As EV uptake increases, managing the charging load becomes crucial. We're excited to share the final FlexTalk report from EEA and EECA. 🔋 Evnex was part of the delivery team for this trial, which focused on using the OpenADR communication protocol to enable demand response by varying EV charging speeds. We collaborated with lines companies, technology providers, and drivers to tackle a crucial part of the puzzle: managing the increase in charging load uptake. The trial proved that OpenADR is suitable for enabling communication between lines companies and flexibility suppliers in New Zealand. This promising development will lead to cheaper charging for everyone by helping the grid handle power constraints without costly infrastructure upgrades.
