🚗 Suzuki GB names new director of automotive 🚗 Suzuki GB PLC has announced a new appointment to the role of director of automotive. Dale Wyatt, who currently holds the role having been with the brand for 17 years, will be taking early retirement from March 2025. He will continue to direct the company’s automotive division until January, when he will be replaced by David Kateley, who has himself been with Suzuki since 2003, and currently leads its automobile sales operations division. If that’s you and you have not already registered for details of the forthcoming Isuzu UK D-Max BEV then do so with the details below. Why am I so excited about this vehicle? The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) figures showed continued rapid growth in EV car adoption (about 16% of all new car registrations were BEV) and most manufacturer’s are broadly (with the help of average CO2 reduction credits) achieving sales in line with ZEV mandate. It’s great news for sustainability and air quality. [Although still more to do and we can’t be complacent ] However LCV’s are another story, electric LCVs equated to less than 1 % of total registrations Jan to April ( for lots of reasons and perhaps a separate post) . That’s a massive way short of targets. In part it’s because there is not always a viable vehicle that meets the operational needs of commercial vehicle operators.
