We rely on technology companies whose goal is to maximize profits for critical infrastructure and services. I am certain that there will be no accountability for these companies as they make billions of dollars from taxpayers and governmental entities. Do we need these companies or do they need our tax dollars more? The answer will help us potentially avoid future challenges.

CrowdStrike confirms Blue Screen errors on Windows 10 with “It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly” boot loop. Below I am sharing an article on how to fix the issue manually, but a pro tip from Piotr 👾 Konieczny from Niebezpiecznik.pl is to: " enter safe boot or recovery mode and rename the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike\C-00000291-00000000-00000032.sys " Statement on Falcon Content Update for Windows Hosts, and solution from Crowdstrike can be found here: https://lnkd.in/d2WbC-AY Workaround steps for individual hosts: Reboot the host to allow it to download the reverted channel file. We strongly recommend putting the host on a wired network (as opposed to WiFi) before rebooting as the host will acquire internet connectivity considerably faster via ethernet. If the host crashes again, then: Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment NOTE: Putting the host on a wired network (as opposed to WiFi) and using Safe Mode with Networking can help remediation. Navigate to the %WINDIR%\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory Windows Recovery defaults to X:\windows\system32 Navigate to the appropriate partition first (default is C:\), and navigate to the crowdstrike directory: C: cd windows\system32\drivers\crowdstrike Note: On WinRE/WinPE, navigate to the Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory of the OS volume Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys” and delete it. Do not delete or change any other files or folders Cold Boot the host Shutdown the host. Start host from the off state. Technical Details on the 19.07.2024 Outage from Crowdstrike can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dbzPTKPZ CrowdStrike periodically updates its software, known as sensors, which are deployed on client machines to provide endpoint protection, but the recent update broke the csagent.sys. They have acknowledged the reports and provided the following statement: "Hello everyone – We have widespread reports of BSODs on windows hosts, occurring on multiple sensor versions. Investigating cause. TA will be published shortly." In a follow up to the original advisory message, George Kurtz, CEO & President of CrowdStrike, confirmed that it’s “actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts.” “Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed,” George Kurtz wrote in a post on X (here: https://lnkd.in/dTyYNRuv) This looks like it's going to be a hard day for a lot of the System Administrators out there... 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐀𝐏-𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐏 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫 2019 / 2016 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 With Windows 10 build 2004 and ISE 2.7 Patch 2, EAP-TEAP is now supported. However, if you are using Microsoft Active Directory based on Windows Server 2019 and below operating systems, EAP-TEAP can only be configured manually for non-domain joined workstations. This is because the "TEAP" option is not available under the group policy configuration for domain-managed workstations. If you have this situation, I have published an article in the Cisco Security Knowledge Base to help you understand how to circumvent it. I hope you find it helpful... https://lnkd.in/dBtHvXxw #ise_quick_tip

What should you do if your Windows computer keeps rebooting and displays a blue screen? This is due to a bug in the most recent version of Windows. Workaround Steps for individual hosts: > Reboot the host to give it an opportunity to download the reverted channel file. If the host crashes again, then: > Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment NOTE: Putting the host on a wired network (as opposed to WiFi) and using Safe Mode with Networking can help remediation. > Navigate to the %WINDIR%\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory > Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it. > Boot the host normally. Note: Bitlocker-encrypted hosts may require a recovery key. Source: https://lnkd.in/gQxa3Dup #Crowdstrike #CrowdstrikeWorkaround #CrowdstrikeBugFix

#CrowdStrike #BlueScreen #solution #cybersecuritynews #Microsoft There are three ways to fix the CrowdStrike issue on Windows computers. 1- One is to delete the C-00000291*.sys file in the CrowdStrike directory on your Windows PC. 2- The second is to rename the CrowdStrike directory itself. 3- The third is to disable the CSAgent service, which is believed to be one of the causes of the CrowdStrike issue on Windows computers. https://lnkd.in/gPBzis3P
