In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, today we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Kiyoshi Patrick Okura. The first Asian American to receive a master's degree in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Okura was among the 120,000 Japanese Americans who were interned during World War II and later established a foundation for developing Asian-Pacific American leaders in the mental health field. Divided ➗️ we stand, united we are. We can find common ground in difference. We are all different. Paradoxically, this difference can unite us in solidarity. Think about it... What we have in common, for the greater good, can transcend the differences that seem to divide us. When we come together, for a larger purpose, we discover unity.
