By coming to Sip and Support, you help the kids we serve to enhance or rebuild their lives. Recently, the Emerging Leaders, our Sip & Support event hosts, spent an evening serving pizza and playing games with kids in our Intensive Treatment Residence program. “This was a great experience,” said Javier de la Rocha. “The kids showed an enormous appreciation and love. This is why I love and support Italian Home for Children: their work enables these kids, along with many others and their families, to enjoy life despite their difficulties – to be kids.” Link: https://lnkd.in/eKXEmSFu

Great discussion with Akeelia Thompson, BBA, MA Creativepreneur. We touched on a wide range of issues from leadership, issues of public policy, and being souled into your purpose. In this clip, I likened the work to address the challenges facing Jamaica to a puzzle. Each individual holds a unique piece of the puzzle. Through our unique contributions, at the policy, community or national level we all can be change agents. Never underestimate the contributions you can make to complete this project that is Jamaica. The project must continue to be the creation of a society where each individual is able to use their talents and capabilities to self actualize - in an enabling and supportive environment that is built upon principles of social justice, equity, inclusion and the rule of law. #development #leadership #publicpolicy #empowerment

Divided ➗️ we stand, united we are. We can find common ground in difference. We are all different. Paradoxically, this difference can unite us in solidarity. Think about it... What we have in common, for the greater good, can transcend the differences that seem to divide us. When we come together, for a larger purpose, we discover unity. Unity, in diversity, is possible when solidarity for the greater good is probable. Unity in the community is visible here. It's as simple and as complicated as that... Nuff said. Full stop. Period. United we are, divided we stand. We stand. We unite. Let's stand united for the greater good. What do you say? Drop a comment. Go for it...

The leader’s challenge is to get the members of a community to embody a new practice. When that is accomplished, they will speak differently, act differently, feel differently, and even see the world differently.

I Concur, this is great article about how we move both individuals and teams from merely consuming more information into actual embodiment of new practices that can contribute to consistent long term transformation.
