Independent media in the Indo-Pacific faces several challenges including growing authoritarianism, closing civic space, and declining revenue sources. IPMAP has been designed to contribute to the overall goal of strengthening the capacity of media outlets and journalists in the Indo-Pacific region to develop their business strategies, enhance their ability to conduct independent journalism, and counter disinformation. Independent media entities with interest in building business sustainability, journalists’ skills and capacity and improving regional networking are especially encouraged to apply for this opportunity and contribute towards efforts to strengthen the media sectors in the target countries.
