Some lose credibility before they walk in the door. Knowing your customer is an essential element of the federal sale. What fleet do you serve? Reading about The 3-Ring Circus of Federal Sales® would prevent such a high-visibility error. Here is a screenshot of a recent post by someone attending the Sea Air Space expo. Can you guess where that ship is from? #defenseindustry #defensecontracting #credibility

Ah, renderings. Love them or hate them, they are a key part of the marketing and approval process for any project. What I've found when I've presented, though, is that renderings are a magnifier. If people are on board, they're going to get more excited. If they're on the fence, well now they have something solid to throw rocks at. The key to winning people over is to be clear about what's in it for them. We know the teams and their owners are going to make money. What makes it okay, though, for the public to partially fund that moneymaking endeavor? What do we get out of it? We hear the part about the sales and other tax increases that will be required. Why aren't the benefits also made more clear? Governments frequently offer tax breaks to corporations to encourage them to come to town, too. As part of that effort they do complex tax income forecasting to help justify the discount and show when it will pay off. Even Taylor Swift gets incentives. I read that several countries paid Ms. Swift and her team to make their location her exclusive tour stop in the region. The reason? Because they knew they would reap hundreds of millions in economic benefits because of it. We're not that different. Maybe lead with the money - the public benefit - and then show the pretty pictures. Maybe these owners could even get creative. The NFL doesn't allow teams to go the Green Bay Packers route and be publicly owned anymore, but why not make every local tax payer a shareholder in the stadium project? Or just offer tax rebates if or when the building exceeds profit targets. Now that's what I call a public-private partnership!
Modern, futuristic-looking stadium renderings get fans excited—but the specifics depicted can create real debate and tension. With more stadium projects in development than ever, what renderings show is more important than ever. Eric Fisher explains the implications of viral stadium renderings » gofos.co/3UhQObt

🔌 How can you address concerns about product compatibility? A demo. Testing a product in an environment that closely resembles the actual use case helps show that everything works as intended. A demo is the clearest way to identify and address limitations or issues confidently upfront. Consider: 👷✈️ SeaTac's (KSEA) new $1 billion International Arrivals Facility, designed to handle 20 widebody aircraft, was flawed, accommodating only 16. This challenge, revealed during "aircraft fit checks," led to a costly redesign effort by the Port of Seattle, amounting to an additional $78 million. The situation escalated into a legal battle, with Clark Construction suing the Port for over $60 million, and the Port countersuing for more than $100 million. Plan demonstrations in your projects to avoid expensive and potentially legally challenging problems.

Three letter call signs or location codes are assigned to each airport and, contrary to frequent flyer lore, usually make sense. ATL, for example, is the Atlanta Intl. Airport (Hartsfield-Jackson) and JFK is the New York area John F. Kennedy airport. In some cases, you have to know the history of the area to understand [...] The post TYO Goes Long first appeared on Connected World. https://lnkd.in/gjSyrP-e

🛥️ We are embarking on an increasingly rapid adoption of autonomous vessels. 💡 How can we ensure that technology adoption, regulation and training evolve in parallel to keep operations safe? I’ve had the privilege of joining a roundtable facilitated by the team at SeaBot Maritime at HMNB Portsmouth this afternoon. So much to think about, and it was great to hear the varied and pertinent viewpoints around the room as tests, trials and demonstrations begin to extend capability and start the progression to Autonomy becoming widely adopted. This is essential for defence, for national security, and to enable the continued volume of trade that travels by sea. Many challenges to overcome - but a positive step. #PTBK #EmbraceTheDarkSide #MaritimeEnterpriseEngagement
