Attending Viva Technology in Paris 🇫🇷 last week was a remarkable experience, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in technology. Here are some key observations and insights from the event: 💼 A Hub of Innovation and Talent: Viva Tech is undoubtedly one of the premier technology events, attracting high-caliber professionals and innovators. The opportunity to connect with such a diverse array of experts is invaluable. However, the event's sheer size can make it challenging to navigate and extract the most value. 🚧 Logistical Challenges: Despite its prominence, the event faced several logistical hurdles. Security checks were notably slow and inefficient, leading to long wait times. The layout of the stands seemed somewhat arbitrary, which, combined with a subpar mobile app, made it difficult to maximize networking opportunities. 🌐 Accelerating AI Adoption: A recurring theme at Viva Tech was the acceleration of AI adoption across industries. Many small and medium-sized companies are now prioritising strategic consulting to understand AI's potential and to build robust foundations for future applications. However, there's a clear gap in identifying qualified partners who can offer both deep technical expertise and strategic business insight. ❌ Strategic Missteps: Some organisations have rushed into AI investments without thorough groundwork, resulting in suboptimal outcomes. These companies are now reassessing their approaches, seeking to evolve from initial prototypes to comprehensive, scalable AI strategies that drive real business value. 💡 Success Stories: Conversely, companies that have taken a more measured approach to AI implementation are starting to see significant benefits. These include improvements in operational efficiency and the realisation of new revenue streams, underscoring the importance of well-planned AI initiatives. 🍀 Looking Ahead to Dublin: With Paris behind us, we are eagerly preparing for the Dublin Tech Summit, where we will be showcasing our latest innovations at Stand B12. We look forward to engaging with more industry leaders and exploring how we can drive the next wave of technological advancement.

Summary: Impact CEE 2024 As the curtains close on this year’s thrilling Impact CEE event in Poznań, it’s time to reflect on the groundbreaking discussions and the remarkable surge in networking that has undoubtedly left a lasting impression. This year, Impact CEE has been a crucible for ideas, driving forward discussions on the ever-evolving role of #AI across various sectors — from governmental insights to its implications across diverse industries. Artificial Intelligence was the leitmotif of the conference, touching on how AI’s integration into everyday tools — through text, image, and sound — enhances our capability to solve complex problems multimodally. The latest iteration, OpenAI GPT-4o or Google Gemini, was a focal point, showcasing its ability to foster multimodal learning and problem-solving that transcends traditional boundaries. Amidst these technological advancements, the conversation inevitably turned towards the AI Act or eIDAS in Europe, raising critical questions about regulatory frameworks' timing and sufficiency as AI intertwines deeply with global economies and productivity landscapes. Is it too late for regulations? Or is the global economy poised to leverage AI, potentially consuming the market as we know it? As AI promises to expand the job market, the conference underscored the pressing need for robust educational frameworks and business support to harness AI’s potential responsibly while mitigating risks such as demographic shifts and climate change. The conference also spotlighted emerging trends in healthtech and sporttech, where hybrid solutions and AI-enhanced mobile apps are poised to significantly improve quality of life for next generations. The event was a testament to the power of connectivity, with a multitude of new contacts and future topics emerging from intense networking sessions. The last two days have indeed marked a pivotal moment for many attendees, now proudly reflected in the flurry of LinkedIn connections celebrating new opportunities and collaborations. As we move forward, let's continue to explore how technology can help us navigate and shape the world, ensuring we make a substantial #impact. CEO @Pontoon Solutions & CSMO @the Adecco Group | Member of the Board @Orange | Passionate Technophile | Driving Growth and Innovation for business impact | Championing Diversity in Tech
Last week, I attended #Francotech, the first business and innovation event alongside the Summit of French-speaking countries, hosted at the iconic European incubator, STATION F in Paris. AI was a key focus, alongside other crucial conversations on energy transition, skilling, inclusion and much more. I left the event inspired by incredible leaders like Neila Benzina, whose entrepreneurial journey in the tech space is nothing short of humbling. I was also privileged to participate in a panel on AI, where we explored its potential and the stakes for French-speaking countries. My core message centered on three pillars where I believe we have an opportunity to collaborate and mutualize resources for a better impact: 📚 Skills: It's imperative to educate both leaders and employees about AI. We must debunk the myth that GenAI is just for "geeks." For the first time, this is a technology accessible through natural language and that can extend its power beyond developers to anyone willing to experiment and innovate. 🌍 Diversity in LLM Training: With most LLM training materials in English, there's a risk of GenAI reflecting Anglo-Saxon biases. To boost global adoption, LLMs must learn from the full spectrum of human diversity, going beyond mere translation. 🛡️ Inclusion and Accountability: GenAI presents both opportunities and challenges for inclusion. While ethic committees can establish guidelines, organizations must be held accountable for their GenAI outputs. Regulators should focus on maintaining a balance between innovation and accountability. 🙏 A huge thank you to my fellow panelists for the enriching conversation, beautifully moderated by Hélène Zemmour from TV5MONDE Audrey Herblin-Stoop Yaya Sylla JULIEN BILLOT Meshia Cédric Oveneke, PhD Vincent LucIAni Martin Signoux Guillaume Avrin Issa Attye Luc Alapini Jb Piacentino Mihnea Costoiu Business France, Business France Suisse / Schweiz, French Foreign Trade Advisors Alliance des Patronats Francophones #AI #innovation #DiversityandInclusion #WomenInTech

This experience follows my last month visit to Dublin Tech Summit, which proved to be an amazing experience. I am looking forward to the Next Web conference and hope that the event will feature many interesting speakers and offer high-quality opportunities for networking.
