As a previous student, I learned about interesting science. Since I periodically do things "outdoors" a challenge that presents itself to me is "plant and animal life." ex.(1) Our biosphere & ex.(2) Sensitive activities. ex.(1) What constitutes a biosphere and more specifically our biosphere? Same type of subject content thoughts: Do you have various views of your yard space? Is your space functional and natural as any place on earth? ex.(2) In more detail, what are sensitive activities? Food for thought: Is there some ideal we don't understand? Do buffers need to be explained better?

Microorganisms sometimes thrive nestled within or atop marine animals, creating unique symbiotic relationships. 🪸 But here's the catch - studying these microorganisms and their genomes is no easy feat. To understand their potential and harness the power of their compounds, scientists face the challenge of separating them entirely from their hosts. Curious about how researchers navigate this intricate process? Here is our latest info-graphic explaining this topic:

As humans prioritize point of study, what is it's impact? "Human Focus, Wider Impact" When societies primarily focus on humans in biology, • They might miss out on understanding other living things like animals, plants, and ecosystems. This limited focus could slow down progress of learning biology. So they should also explore a wider range of biological concepts beyond just human-related topics. Researchers have discovered that plants, specifically goldenrods, exhibit remarkable problem-solving skills. These plants can perceive their environment and adapt their responses based on past experiences, challenging the traditional notion that intelligence requires a central nervous system. Looking forward to speaking at the 100th Anniversary meeting of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) tomorrow. The theme for the opening plenary is "why do we study plants?", to which I'm tempted to respond..... du-uh! If you eat, breathe, wear clothing, take medicine or tend a garden, you're relying on centuries of plant science. If you live on the planet Earth, you need plants to survive. And if you believe, as I do, that science and technology have the power to change people's lives for the better, what better field (pun intended) of study than plant biology? https://lnkd.in/gDB7muPt
