The Food Traceability Rule requires persons who manufacture, process, pack, or hold foods on the Food Traceability List (FTL) to maintain and provide to their supply chain partners specific information – called Key Data Elements (KDEs) – for certain Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) in the food’s supply chain. FDA put together a video with examples of KDEs and CTEs required for different supply chain scenarios. Check it out: https://hubs.ly/Q02N_BT_0

The Partnership for Food Traceability (PFT), a public-private partnership in collaboration with the FDA, has recently launched! PFT is the only independent forum that brings together all parts of the food supply chain in order to make critical implementation decisions and define a shared vision for food traceability. This public-private partnership includes cross-sector companies of all sizes, industry associations, food traceability experts, software vendors, FDA, and state and local regulators to provide consistency in data structure, requirements, timing, and standards. PFT will also be a platform for comparing pilot learnings as well as a place where challenges can be heard by FDA. PFT will provide a consistent set of business and functional requirements for traceability, ensuring that technology solutions meet compliance requirements and company needs.
