🌞 As we welcome summer, outdoor #construction workers, please stay cool! Heat stress can be dangerous. Wear appropriate clothing and protective gear, drink water often, and minimize physical activity when it's hot. Employers: Schedule heavy tasks for cooler times of the day and in shaded areas, and plan more breaks. ❄️ As the temperature drops and the winter weather continues to bite, it makes conditions for those having to work outdoors on construction sites even more challenging and potentially hazardous. With this in mind, as part of its annual Winter Safety campaign, Marley has produced guidance to help roofers and outside construction workers stay safe, and is giving away hundreds of Marley-branded snoods to help keep workers warm in winter. 🗣 Dan Redfern, Marketing Manager at Marley, commented: “We should not underestimate the risks involved in working outdoors during the cold winter months and the potential impact that it can have on the health and wellbeing of workers. “Roofers are more prone to colds, chest infections, injuries and fatigue as they work outdoors through challenging conditions. Each year our Winter Safety campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks and provide guidance on how to keep those working outdoors safe this winter. “Whilst it’s important that workers are mindful of their environment and understand the importance of wearing their PPE correctly, employers also need to ensure appropriate risk assessments have been carried out and that they take every precaution to keep their teams safe this winter.” 👀 Read Marley's tips to stay safe on site in winter weather, plus claim your free Marley snood here: https://lnkd.in/eMNJf87Q #roofing #roofers #roofingcontractors #healthandsafety #construction #safetyfirst #staysafe

High temperatures won't deter our road construction crews working outside all week! 🚧☀️ At 110* degrees, it's 160* degrees on the pavement. To ensure the safety of our team, we remind them daily about smart practices for working in the heat. Workers unprepared for outdoor heat have an increased risk for heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and life-threatening heat stroke. Even the healthiest worker can get sick when working outdoors in the heat without proper protections. Heat can also make workers more susceptible to falls, equipment-related injuries, and other on-the-job safety hazards. #sunsmart #safetyfirst #quailconstruction #keepcool
