One of my favourite headlines of all time was in a Canadian newspaper, which stated "not feeling any stress over this messy desk" in big, bold letters. Mind you, this was at a time when hot-swappnig desks wasn't a thing, so you could pile things up without worrying about the next person that would want to sit in your spot. Your description of the podcast reminds of Tim Harford's book Messy, which addresses the "unexpected connections" between creativity and mess. Looking forward to my next train ride to give this one a listen!
