Happy #ProgrammersDay! I’m Tiago Martins, and today I’m going to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what a day in a developer's life is like. Get ready and join me on this #takeover! 🚀 I’ve always been fond of programming, but it wasn’t until I joined ITSector five years ago that I discovered my passion for mobile development. Since then, I’ve loved the challenge of building something new, knowing that people will use what I’ve created. The support from my colleagues has also been a huge part of this growing process, both personally and professionally. 💪 When I’m not coding, you’ll probably find me gaming, catching up on movies and series, or trying to magically gain the superpower of fast travel — with just a snap of my fingers, I’d be anywhere in the world instantly! Could you imagine? 🗺️ Join me in today's Instagram stories to learn more about me. See you there! 👋 #TheNextDigital #DigitalTransformation #TheNextLevel #LifeAtITSector #Technology #iOS #Programming

#DevFestYYC 2024 Recap! GDGYYC | Calgary's Google Cloud Developer Group premier event! I missed some of the keynote speakers, but I had the chance to learn about Mob Programming from Susan Fung at SkipTheDishes. What Is Mob Programming? 🖥️ Team Collaboration: A small team works together on a single project in real time, sharing one computer. 🛠️ Role-Based Approach: Driver: Writes the code based on team input. Navigator: Guides the team’s direction, translating ideas into actionable instructions. 🤝 Expands on Pair Programming: Unlike pair programming (two people), mob programming involves the whole team, allowing for diverse input and creativity. 🔄 Real-Time Problem Solving and Implementation: When the entire team is involved, decisions, approvals, and implementation can happen immediately, speeding up the development process. A huge shoutout to Miraj Kumar and Sanghamitra Chakrabarty (PMP)®(CSM)®🏆🙌 for putting this event on my radar. Without you, I might still be Googling “What is DevFest?” 😆 . You’re the real MVPs! 💻✨ Greg Bennett 🦸♂️, your efforts to support the City of Calgary's developer community deserve a standing ovation 👏 (and maybe a developer-themed superhero cape 🦸♂️). Your contributions are priceless and will remembered by many future generations! 🥂 Laura Grant 🎤🎉, pulling off an event like this isn’t easy but your hard work and resilience made it happen. It was truly an honour to work alongside you and be part of the magic you helped create. Here’s to an even smoother event next year! ✨🙌 A Big Bee Thank You to the Volunteers and Community 🙌 who dedicated their time and energy to making #DevFestYYC 2024 a success. Your hard work behind the scenes - coordinating, organizing, troubleshooting, and everything in between - made this event possible. As a fellow volunteer, I am proud of the chance to be part of such a hard working team 💪✨. And to the community who showed up, connected, and brought their energy to #DevFestYYC 2024 - you made this event truly unforgettable. You’re the secret sauce 🌟 that keeps this community thriving! This is it. I had enough of me. It's been over 3 weeks since I started working on my first full-stack app, a todo app. And... it’s still not done. Back in 12th grade, I was terrible at physics and hated it. But I had to take my physics board exam. But with exams pressure back to back, it became normal to study for 12-16 hours a day. I just go to my chair in the morning and back to bed. ZERO min phone time, even to friends. After the exam, I couldn't hold back my tears because of how awful my paper was. None of my friends looked as sad as me. The results came out and I was astonished. It wasn't a great result compared to others, but compared to me it was. I was happy and thanked myself for LOCKING IN those days. But now I am doing something that I love, programming. Yet I am hardly at 20% of what I am capable of. If you haven't already guessed, it's DEADLINE and ACCOUNTABILITY. It was a do-or-die situation back then. Die as in losing respect in the eyes of society and my parents and to make them happy. Hence I want to commit and finish this project by the end of next week. So I am making a <Promise>; What If I don't? I'll be not using ANY social media, won't talk to friends let alone play games, watch YT or any anime/movies until I complete the project. This isn’t just about a todo app. It’s about proving to myself that I can finish what I start. I HATE leaving incomplete projects or making half-assed projects. Are you frustrated with yourself too? Let's be accountability partners. Do you accept this challenge to finish something by the end of next week? Make a choice, right now! Are you in? #growth #Developers #learning #development #change #softwareEngineer #webDevelopment #computerScience #college #SelfImprovement #GoalSetting #Motivation #TechJourney #FullStackDevelopment

State Management Showdown: RiverPod vs GetX! Hey fellow Flutter enthusiasts! 🤔 I've been diving deep into Flutter state management libraries, and I want to hear from you! RiverPod and GetX are both powerful tools, but they approach state management in different ways. RiverPod is like a river that flows through your app, providing state and dependencies wherever needed. It's flexible, powerful, and encourages declarative programming. But, it can be complex. GetX, on the other hand, is like a store room where you can put and get state. It's simple, easy to use, and focuses on simplicity. But, it may lack flexibility. So, which one do you prefer? RiverPod or GetX? Share your experiences, use cases, and tips! Let's learn from each other and make our Flutter journeys smoother! #Flutter #StateManagement #RiverPod #GetX #Learning #Programming

I recently came across Mimo, a mobile app that allows you to learn coding in a fun and interactive way (tutorials, quizzes, projects) on the go! 💻 During my daily commute I was excited to learn new things and learn more about coding in a fun and exciting way! After 2 months of daily 30-60 minutes learning sessions, I'm happy to share that I completed the Full-Stack Development Mimo Certificate! This won't make you an expert, but it's still a great way to get your foot in the door, especially if you come from a non-technical background! 🧑🏻💻 #mimo #mimoapp #fullstack_development #coding
