Between studying theoretical topics in a course and entering the fast-paced workplace, there is a gap that needs to be considered and nurtured for graduates. To bridge this gap, many companies are implementing graduate development programs. Investing in hiring graduates is an amazing first step for companies, however it is important to be able to assist these graduates on how to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills they have in the workplace. The complete guide on everything you need to know about graduate programs, why they're important, and what graduates hope to gain from employers is in Būteros' recent blog article! Head of Emerging Talent at Skanska. Passionate about inspiring and developing the next generation of talent.
I had the pleasure of attending this year's 'What do Graduates want' survey results event, superbly organised and hosted by the fantastic team at #BrightNetwork. All the insights into GenZ's mindsets plus the great student panel discussions were relevant and pivotal in continuing to shape our future talent attraction, recruitment and development solutions. Here are my key takeaways ⬇️ ❤️GenZ want to experience our work culture, not just read about it. 📌 71% have a location preference for their first graduate role. 46% want to work in London. 🌍Black heritage students are using GenAI more than white students. GenAI can be a great tool for neurodiverse students, helping level the playing field when it comes to application processes. ⁉️Companies can be sometimes viewed as 'all about D&I' only to then make the recruitment process fairly inaccessible. It’s also not always immediately obvious what exactly is meant by 'resilience' and 'passion for business.' 🪜Only 15% of those on graduate programmes said they'd definitely stay. Employers should make it clear what progression will look like. 🏢The majority of young people want to work 3 to 5 days from the office/site to learn from others, build professional networks and socialise. They are not expecting to make the rules, however, they strongly prefer jobs that offer some form of flexibility. #ResearchBreakfast2024 #BrightNetworkResearch #emergingtalent
And we're live at launch of our annual ‘What do graduates want?’ research... Incredible to be on stage in front of ~300 early career specialists from our leading employer partners who have all come together at the Pan Pacific Hotel in London today to hear the results of our research on 14,000+ students and graduates. #ResearchBreakfast2024 #EarlyCareers #Skills #GraduateRecruitment #BrightNetworkResearch

Since our inception in 2002, Career Mosaic has been on a remarkable journey and grown into a major player in the international student recruitment segment with a unique business model. Our journey began with a vision that encompassed all stakeholders of the study abroad ecosystem - the student, the university and the counselor. Over the years, we've focused on building expertise, strong relations and staying lean and profitable, thereby earning the trust of over 400 university partners in the US and nearly 2000 agency partners spanning India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Southeast Asia, MENA and beyond. Our path hasn’t always been easy, but our commitment to excellence has guided us through. Each milestone, from our first university partnership to our latest expansion, shows our perseverance and strategic planning. We've built unique service offerings and adapted to meet the needs of our students, university partners and agency partners. As we plan to expand globally, we are optimizing our services for all stakeholders. Aligned with this objective, we are all set for our first funding round to raise $25–30 million. After doubling our sales in FY24 compared to the previous year, we are looking ahead to FY25 and beyond and are excited to exceed the expectations of our mission to excellence. The hard work is paying off, and the future surely looks bright. VCCircle Malvika Maloo Abhijit Zaveri #CareerMosaic #EducationForAll #GlobalEducation #SustainableGrowth #NewBeginnings

To use my career counseling and coaching skills to guide students and graduates in making quality career decisions, enabling them to secure meaningful and productive work, thus contributing to Singapore’s economic growth
Reflections on my 1 year work anniversary in NTU Career & Attachment Office Delivered 2nd in-class sharing to 2nd year SSM students - 2 sessions each 30 minutes on my 1st year work anniversary Spent close to a week conceptualizing relevant topics and including contents and images so as to engage the students. At times, I was so concerned if they would connect that on one night, the Lord spoke to me waking me up : use your story to share! Thus, the decision to share my pain to passion narrative and how 2 career coaches that i am grateful to in Mei Eng (then NTU CAO Director) and Jeremiah Wong 王俊傑 entered my life to be part of my career planning process. In this, i hope to encourage, comfort and urge my students to start their #careerplanning NOW. As I think back, I am also grateful to this institution for giving plenty of opportunities to do what i could never have done in my previous role - building nurturing collaborative relationships with my faculty colleagues at CCEB and SSM; delivering effectivecareer exploration activities; case conceptualizing interventions beneficial to my students; explaining resume crafting principles; conducting mock interview practices; collaborating with my fellow NTU Career & Attachment Office colleagues to organize impactful industry sharing sessions etc. etc. etc. And at the heart of this heart and hard work are you - my students to whom i am grateful for this calling to serve you. It takes a lot of brain work and I get drained at times, I never felt that much fulfillment compared to my past career roles. So on this note, today being Nanyang Technological University Singapore Open House, my encouragement to our Freshmen to be, know that you are supported by the various Career Services that the NTU Career & Attachment Office family provides : you are not alone as you chart out your career direction for I and my passionate colleagues will journey with you. The work has just begun! :) #careercounselling #careercoaching #careerdevelopment #caontusg #ownit #hopeactiontheory

In the context of career advisory at Kaplan Singapore, the lion dance serves as a metaphor for the integration of traditional values with contemporary skills and knowledge. Just as the lion dance has evolved to attract younger generations and preserve cultural heritage, career advisory services must adapt to the changing job market and technological advancements. This adaptation involves understanding and leveraging one's strengths, akin to the lion dance's use of visual symbols to convey specific qualities. Moreover, embracing both tradition and innovation, as seen in the lion dance, mirrors the necessity for individuals to balance foundational skills with new competencies in their career development. This balance is crucial for career resilience and growth, much like how the lion dance has remained relevant by incorporating modern elements without losing its traditional essence. The relevance of this metaphor extends to educational institutions like Kaplan Singapore, which play a pivotal role in equipping students with both timeless skills and current knowledge. By fostering an environment that values cultural heritage while embracing modernity, Kaplan Singapore can prepare its students for a dynamic and ever-evolving career landscape.

One of my highlights last week was to be on the panel discussion for NTU inaugural learning day. There were rich insights from the panelists, with Soon Joo Gog Chief SkillsFuture Officer of Singapore Skillsfuture, Seok Bin Ong CHRO, NTU and Dhilip Kumar Raju, Head of Staffing, Tata Consultancy on the panel moderated by 陈惠忠 陈惠忠 Phillip Tan from the Career Attachment Office. We shared some good insights on the employability trends and the skills for the future. Some key insights from the panelists ✳️ In the new world of work, people will need to take a multi-disciplinary approach in learning. For example, a HR person needs to understand data. A data scientist need to also have a good business perspective to understand what insights are they looking for ✳️ Show learning agility. If you have a new role in mind, show proactiveness and pick up the skills required before you go for the job interview. Employers want to see the drive and initiative from you. ✳️ The pace of change is accelerating. Shelf life of skills may be short. Individuals need to develop a meta cognitive thinking skills - the ability to connect the dots, identify patterns and bring fresh perspectives ✳️ Develop career lattice instead of climbing the corporate ladder. In the new world of work, there are multiple pathways to career success. Career need not be linear or binary. ✳️ IHLs could partner with industry to bring real world case studies for the students as their capstone projects to tap on their creativity and allow them to apply what they learn. There was so much rich insights from the session. The target audience was not the students. Instead it was a learning day for the faculty/professors in a whole of part effort to bridge academia with the industry to ensure graduates are future ready. A great initiative by the career office lead by Mr Pui Wah Loh PPA #Growth #newworldofwork #futureready #lifelonglearning
