In celebrating Juneteenth, we are reminded of our responsibility to foster an environment where every voice is heard, every story is valued, and every individual is empowered. ITW's employee resource group (ERG), African American Network (AAN), is just one of many ways we support inclusiveness and belonging within our organization. #Juneteenth #ProudtobeITW #ITWMedical

As we commemorate #Juneteenth, it is a powerful reminder of our ongoing journey toward freedom and equality. This day marks not just a moment in history, but a call to action for us all. As an HR and DE&I leader, I firmly believe in two guiding mantras: "Stop the silence" and "Use your voice." In the workplace, these principles are more crucial than ever. We must foster an environment where dialogue is encouraged, and where every voice is heard and valued. It is through open and honest conversations that we can address the issues of inequity and build a culture rooted in respect and understanding. Civility in the workplace is not just about polite conversation—it's about creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered to contribute. It's about recognizing and dismantling systemic barriers that prevent equitable treatment and opportunities for all employees. Equitable treatment means that we go beyond equality to ensure that everyone has access to the same opportunities by addressing individual needs and circumstances. It means listening to those who have been marginalized, understanding their experiences, and taking meaningful action to support them. On this Juneteenth, let's commit to stopping the silence. Let’s use our voices to champion civility and equity in our workplaces. Together, we can create a more inclusive, respectful, and just environment for all. #DiversityEquityInclusion #StopTheSilence #UseYourVoice #Civility #Equity #InclusiveWorkplace

'Take Action Make An Impact' a powerful theme for National Inclusivity Week 2023. The theme is about promoting positive action to ensure inclusivity in the workplace and support marginalised colleagues. More than action and impact, I believe we need to highlight, adapt and standardise good practice, much of which is delivered locally but not seen nationally. So learn, act and make an impact - but also celebrate, and promote what you do well - it makes all the difference.
