Thank you, Mark Thompson, for your insightful article on the importance of rethinking how we approach digital service delivery in the public sector (which could well apply to other sectors including the charity sector!). I continue to be taken and support the notion of leveraging shared platform environments, rather than having each service provider develop bespoke solutions for identical problems. This approach not only drives efficiency but also ensures a more cohesive public service landscape. Adding to Mark’s points, I believe leaders must also reflect on how organisational structures can either enable or inhibit meaningful change. Too often, existing structures are not fit for transformative purposes. Concept such as organisational ambidexterity, the ability of an organisation to both explore new opportunities while exploiting current capabilities, is critical here. It’s about being agile enough to innovate while maintaining operational stability. Without such a mindset, even the best technology can fall short of achieving real transformation. Thanks Mark for your work in this area, hopefully both parties and the wider sectors are listening. #DigitalTransformation #PublicServices #SharedPlatforms #OrganisationalChange #Ambidexterity #TechForGood #LeadershipInChange
