How can Africa improve its performance for LA 2028?

Africa is set to make a historic impact at the #Paris2024Olympics, Adetoro Adetayo reports: https://lnkd.in/dmNxkUd4 As Adetoro Adetayo explains, the unprecedented participation of African athletes will redefine the legacy of the Games in terms of inclusivity and excellence. Since the first modern #Olympics in 1896, the Games have grown to feature over 27,000 competitors from more than 200 nations. This year, Île-Saint-Denis will become 'Africa Station,' celebrating African culture and sports. African countries like Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Botswana are sending their largest contingents yet. Nigeria, for instance, will have over 50 athletes across eleven disciplines, including stars like Oluwatobiloba Amusan and Ese Brume. This significant presence not only highlights Africa’s athletic talent but also promotes peace and international cooperation through sports diplomacy. This country is an interesting place... As Melis Alphan said: "If you lose hope, this time, hope clings to your ankle, it doesn't let you go." That's really the case. There used to be people who passionately supported a national team (Brazil, Argentina, England) or a big international club. For example, they would say: I support the xxx sports team in the neighborhood, the yyy city team, I'm originally from Beşiktaş/Fenerbahçe/Galatasaray... of course, I also support the national team but my second choice is Brazil, and I also have my international team, Anderlecht FC. (even if they didn't express it like this, that was their behavior with their interests) Well, in politics too, there are dynamic and exciting countries, and soulless, lifeless ones. People from the latter countries get bored. I recommend these people to follow Turkish politics to the whole world. If that seems too complicated, just Istanbul will do. This way, you can dive from one shock to another as if you were watching an exciting series. DUALITY & THE LAST SUPPER AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES: The Paris Olympics had a PLAY modeled after the LAST SUPPER PATTERN. It is not clear from the beginning WHAT MESSAGE THE CREATORS OF THIS PLAY AND THE ORGANIZERS OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES wanted to SEND TO THE WORLD through this play. But, bearing in mind that the OLYMPIC GAMES ARE INTENDED FOR THE MAJORITY OF HUMANITY, WHO PERCEIVE REALITY AS DUALITY, we can view this play STARTING FROM THE BASIC SETTINGS OF DUALITY. The basic settings of duality are SPACE AND TIME, which, by their nature, are THE LIMITATIONS OF ETERNITY AND INFINITY. Space and time are settings of the CONSCIOUS MIND OR EGO which, THROUGH THE BELIEFS IT CONTAINS, creates and governs PHYSICAL REALITY. ETERNITY AND INFINITY are the basic settings of the UNIVERSAL MIND OR SPIRIT which, by its very nature, is a MEDIUM CREATED BY THE UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS OR THE ETERNAL CREATOR GOD - to be reflected in it. The Universal Mind has its ORIGINAL LEVEL AND SUB-LEVELS where HIGHER SUB-LEVELS CREATE LOWER SUB-LEVELS and exist within them. The UNIVERSAL MIND OR SPIRIT, including its original level and its sub-levels, MANIFESTS PHYSICALLY AND/OR NON-PHYSICALLY in ever-changing forms. This CHANGE OF FORMS happens because INFORMATION ABOUT EXPERIENCES AT LOWER LEVELS are constantly RETURNING THROUGH HIGHER SUB-LEVELS into the universal mind and thereby changing it. The form in which the universal mind or spirit manifests is the GOD WHO IS CREATED as opposed to the universal consciousness which is the ETERNAL CREATOR GOD i.e. the one who creates but who is not created. PEOPLE are the form in which the conscious mind or ego manifests as the SUB-LEVEL OF THE UNIVERSAL MIND. According to the principle that HIGHER LEVELS ABSORB THE FEEDBACK INFORMATION OF LOWER LEVELS, all information about PEOPLE'S REACTIONS TO THE LAST SUPPER PATTERN at the Olimpic games - returns to the spirit and no longer exists separately. As JESUS CHRIST, who is the main character of the Last Supper, is the FORM IN WHICH THE UNIVERSAL MIND OR SPIRIT MANIFESTS DIRECTLY, and not through the soul, all ABOVE MENTIONED human reactions to this Olimpic games's play GO DIRECTLY into the universal mind and cease to exist. In this sense, the creators of the Last Supper-style play and the organizers of the Olympic Games are EXACTLY THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE in order for this kind of experience to happen, i.e. for the public to react to it. A question of cost: The 2024 Summer Olympics is in full swing in Paris amidst safety concerns like ISIS threats and vandalism. However, overshadowing these issues is the alarming trend of cost overruns that plagues most Olympic Games. Spending more than you have budgeted for has become the norm for host cities. #Paris is actually not the worst of the bunch (as of current estimates) despite an overrun of more than 100 percent landing it at a cost of $8.7 billion for hosting the Games (excluding investments in urban and transportation infrastructure). This is easily topped by #Barcelona, which ran 266 percent over cost in 1992 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016, which was a whopping 352 percent over budget. Winter Games can also be more costly than expected, for example in the Russian town of Sochi in 2014, where the event was 289 percent more expensive than expected at a record-breaking 28.9 billion, or in #Norway's Lillehammer in 1994, there a 277 percent overrun occurred (but the total cost was still nowhere near as high). While hosting the #Olympics promises infrastructure improvement, many past host cities are left with abandoned venues due to poor planning. #Sarajevo, #Athens, #Beijing, and #Rio serve as reminders of financial mismanagement rather than celebrations of athletic achievement. Some cities, like #Hamburg, #Germany, withdrew their bids due to cost concerns, while others learned the hard way post-event. PORTUGAL AND MOROCCO UNITED IN FRIENDSHIP – JOINT ISSUE Portugal and Morocco are united by a longstanding history, stemming from a shared geography and common heritage, integrating a multiplicity of influences present in various areas such as arts, culture, language, and architecture, among others. The Treaty of Peace, Navigation and Trade, signed 250 years ago, in 1774, became the cornerstone on which the political and diplomatic relationship between the two countries was built. Since then, those political and diplomatic bilateral relations have been characterized by sustained balance and stability, mutually positive and enriching. With this stamp edition, the CTT Correios de Portugal marks the 250th anniversary of the Treaty of Peace, with philatelic prints that illustrate the immeasurable and diverse heritage of the two countries, using imagery of emblematic historical monuments that evoke the celebrated period. This joint edition also celebrates the 30 years of the Treaty of Friendship, Good-neighbourliness and Cooperation that currently frames the bilateral relationship. In addition, this initiative aims to highlight the strategic value held by the bilateral relation and the potential of this cooperation to overcome the challenges faced by both countries. Portugal and Morocco are equally committed to reinforcing regional stability and security and to promoting integration between the European and Maghrebi areas. Both countries are mindful regarding the economic potential, including in the field of energy, and aware of the respective role as a gateway to markets in different regions, but with growing interconnections. Furthermore, it is worth noting the successful tripartite organization by Portugal, Morocco, and Spain of the FIFA World Cup in 2030, bringing Europe and Africa closer, with a focus on youth and sport, in a clear demonstration of the versatility of its ties. #philately
