IVECO BUS won a record order for #electric buses! They will deliver 411 electric buses to Rome. Contract worth 300 mil. euros, includes 10 years of maintenance. Buses 12 and 18 m, first deliveries at the end of the year, completion by mid-2026. Rome's transition to more ecological and efficient mobility. Iveco E-Way electric buses are manufactured in France, batteries from Italy. Next step to the sustainable transition! Italy is aware of this and is on the right track. I wonder, how they plan to build the charging infrastructure? Will they choose 2-connector units, or will they choose a central power unit and place charging terminals at the depot? Following the slump in vehicle sales owing to the pandemic, the subsequent supply chain issues and rising raw material costs, the European market for passenger car vehicles finally saw an expansion in 2023. The recently published ICCT report on sales of Zero Emission Heavy vehicles in the EU presents very valuable insights on their penetration in the market. 5 top insights on goods vehicles: 👉 Overall sales in Q1-Q3 2023 : 1700 heavy trucks (> 12 tonnes) representing < 1% of all sales but more than 100% growth compared to 2022! 👉 2350 medium trucks (3.5 - 11 tonnes) representing 15% of overall sales and growth rate is > 100% compared to 2022! 👉The top countries for sales of Zero Emission trucks: Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, followed by Sweden/Denmark 👉Volvo group vehicles, Volvo and Renault, were the most popular in the heavy category (66%) and Ford Transit Cargo in the medium category (30%) 👉 Battery electric technology dominated all sales: 100% in the medium category and nearly 100% in the heavy category.
