Director of Organizational Culture & Belonging at Fairmont San Francisco | Executive Leader | Certified Executive Coach | Mentor | Organization Effectiveness | Professional Hula Dancer | 40 Under 40
Fairmont San Francisco was a finalist for the California Hotel Lodging Association Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award. Visit the website to learn more about the award: | California Hotel & Lodging Association (calodging.com). As horrible as it sounds, working in hospitality we often forget to treat people like people. How did I change the conversation and put the human back in hospitality? By challenging the status quo, putting in the work to build self-awareness. Unpacking, unlearning, re-learning, creating a safe space for humans to be vulnerable, let go of shame and trauma. Foster a growth mindset by taking time to reflect on relationships with failure to build confidence to take risks. Recognizing that there is over 100 years to learn from and understand. Help executives and senior leaders to take a step back and figure out their impact statement and measure it in people, profit, plus more. Reconnect with the magic that is the human experience and a sense of community. Focus on rediscovering play, independent thinking, and freedom of thought. I'm curious, how does a sense of community benefit you?

🌟 Embracing the Call of Hospitality 🌟 Gratitude to 張依芳 Cheong Efon for the insightful post on Trust & Believe - What is the difference? It sparked a profound reflection on the essence of hospitality within our Ministry of Hospitality (MOH). Reflecting on Hebrews 13:2, a verse deeply ingrained in our MOH ethos, I've consistently emphasized its significance during orientation and refresher training for both new and existing members. Hebrews 13:2 reminds us: "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it." This verse resonates profoundly, highlighting the transformative impact of our actions. In extending warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality, we not only welcome others but also create avenues for divine encounters. Let's wholeheartedly embrace this principle within our ministry, transcending superficial interactions to forge authentic connections. Whether it's offering a smile, lending a listening ear, or extending a helping hand, let's embody the spirit of hospitality in every interaction. May our hearts remain open, our doors unlocked, and our arms outstretched to welcome all who cross our paths. For in doing so, we may unwittingly find ourselves entertaining angels. #MinistryOfHospitality #Hebrews13v2 #EmbraceHospitality #DivineEncounters #LCC #ChurchoftheHolyCross
