Germany ■ The modernised Mercedes-Benz branch in Berlin Spandau is reopening! ■ The Mercedes-Benz branch in Berlin is celebrating the reopening of its centre in Spandau after a year and a half of renovations. The wholly modernised competence center for vans and transporters now features an expanded charging infrastructure over 8,500 m², an innovative 360° vehicle scan camera system that accurately assesses vehicle conditions, a newly designed showroom, an expanded customer parking area, and a new separate exit for trucks and buses. The Mercedes-Benz Van Experience Center in Spandau showcases over 200 new vans and transporters, used cars from the “Junge Sterne” brand, and various business vehicles, making it the region's largest van and transporter showroom. ■ The service area has undergone significant modernization. A dedicated service lane for vans, transporters, and cars, along with a fully remodelled commercial vehicle service area, has been established to maximize efficiency and provide the highest level of comfort for customers. Addressing Challenges in the Fastag System for Used/New Car Logistics Honorable Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji, As a key player in the transportation industry, particularly in the logistics of used cars, we have encountered significant challenges with the current Fastag system. While we appreciate the government's efforts to modernize toll collection, the existing framework presents obstacles for our industry and used car dealers. One of the primary issues arises during the interstate transportation of used vehicles. Often, customers remove the Fastag before the sale, and the new buyer faces difficulties in obtaining a new Fastag due to ownership verification requirements. This situation results in our transporters being charged double tolls, leading to increased costs and making the process less viable for both buyers and our business. To address this, we propose the introduction of a "Temporary Transport Fastag" or a similar solution to ensure seamless and cost-effective transportation of used cars across states. Such a measure would greatly benefit our industry and contribute to a more efficient logistics ecosystem.
