In the first half of 2024, warehousing and logistics absorption in India surged by 8%, reaching an impressive 16.6 million sq ft. 📦 Mumbai leads the way with a 41% share, showcasing the city's pivotal role in the logistics sector. Notably, third-party logistics companies have seen significant growth, capturing 39% of the market—up from 26% last year. Sumadhura Group has leased 1.8 lakh square feet of warehousing space to NX Logistics India (Nippon Express) at its Sumadhura Logistics Park in Bengaluru. This collaboration marks one of the largest warehousing transactions in India this year. The facility is part of the first phase development of Sumadhura Logistics Parks, spanning 2.5 million square feet across 100 acres in Hoskote. The company plans to expand the total capacity to 6 million square feet in the next phase. The Bengaluru-based real estate firm is investing ₹600 crores in the first phase, targeting industries like e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, automobile, logistics, FMCG, retail, and electronics. The increasing demand for Grade A warehouses indicates the growing market need, particularly from large-scale industries like FMCG, which is expected to become a $10 billion industry by 2030. As Sumadhura expands its warehousing footprint in Bengaluru, will this lease to Nippon Express be a catalyst for further growth in the city's logistics sector?

I recently had the chance to visit Mumbai's Gateway Distribution Park, where I gained important knowledge regarding supply chain management and logistics. The tour opened our eyes to the tremendous potential of contemporary warehouses as well as the challenges of running faultless operations. 📦We investigated a range of subjects throughout the tour, including: The park's impressive ability to store containers shows how well it can handle large numbers. 🏗️ Warehouse Operations: We looked around the warehouse and learned about the paperwork and procedures involved in inventory management. 🚚 Machines and Containers: Find out about the different kinds of machines and containers as well as the cutting-edge technologies needed for effective operations. 💡 Discussed operational issues and the necessity for new solutions. During the engaging meeting room sessions, we discussed: 🎯 Future Goals: Discussed the park's vision and strategic goals, emphasizing expansion and sustainability. 🚛 Multimodal Logistics: Investigated the integration of several modes of transportation to improve logistics efficiency and lower costs. 🛤️ Dedicated Freight Corridors: Analyzed how dedicated freight corridors would revolutionize logistics by providing faster and more reliable transportation choices. This experience has given me a better grasp of the logistics landscape and the importance of technology and innovation in overcoming obstacles. I am excited to apply these ideas in my pursuit of excellence in logistics and supply chain management. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 = 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 = 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 A lot is said and discussed about "Visibility" in #logistics and #supplychain , While I was on the road recently travelling from Mumbai to Pune, this appeared on the road - 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘭 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘺𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘴? This made me think that visibility should be like the "𝗙𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡": - 𝙁 = 𝙁𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 (As long as the clarity is there with same form and shape each such shop represents the same thing - we all know!) - 𝙐 = 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 (Extremely simple to interpret across the country - imagine a universal and simple visibility in a diverse country, divided by languages, united by this :)) - 𝙎 = 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 (Obviously this is used across the country, villages and all over by all size of shops and dukans offering the similar services) - 𝙄 = 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 (The visibility must be integrated with a purpose, here it is very clear, from far away we know what we are going to get here) - 𝙊 = 𝙊𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙙 (Visibility should be without any major change management, without any hassle and fully automated, universally understood) - 𝙉 = 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠-𝙒𝙞𝙙𝙚 (As explained above too, the visibility must be easily adaptable by all parts of a diverse and complex network easily) At FreightFox we are making logistics and supply chain #visibility just like this everyday for our customers!
