University College Dublin has launched its Strategy to 2030, Breaking Boundaries, which sets the course for the next stage of the university’s development and growth. Under the new strategy, UCD will grow the range of opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills and realise their potential in areas also linked to Ireland’s future societal and economic success, including significant new provision in lifelong learning and skills development. UCD will also expand cross-cutting research in areas of excellence and impact within the university, such as artificial intelligence, One Health, sustainability and research for policy, and it will expand its commitment to Ireland’s national culture, heritage and language. The university also plans to grow its strategic global partnerships and partnerships with industry, and to enhance and integrate its physical and digital campuses. I love this. As 🧠Pasha Marlowe, MFT had pointed out; there are so many different versions and iterations of these that could be made. My question to you: how are you looking to decrease the inequity between these states? In your personal and professional life? What do you believe to be essential in combatting these systematic and institutionalised belief structures? Is having people in positions power through privilege, just simply* acknowledge it, enough? It is a considerable task, whichever way we look at it. However, we do need to be brave enough to make that first important step.

We made it into the student council! Leadership can be seen as a chain of embarrassing events and your reaction to them. And there were plenty this campaign: - Going class to class to pitch is nerve-wrecking - Students smirking at me(maybe I am that funny) - Literally stopping people in the corridor and them circling around me - Going public and facing the consequences in a public manner But "embarrassment is the cost to entry". I see the above processes as constructive for what I will do in life, because it amounts to over 1k cold approaches/calls. I honed my selling skills. And of course, you can only sell convincingly if you believe in the product. In this case, it was me. Looking ahead, I will represent students by listening to their problems and feedback, hoping to integrate the input into the Faculty of Science (BETA). This is where the actual leadership comes into play. SRVU Studentenbond is the association who backed me, together with our members: Sylke van Kempen, Bart Dylan Verkerk, Yannick, Berfin Baran, Noah Chan whose efforts did not go unnoticed. Same goes for the members of the previous board of FSR. Aziza Filal, Yusuf Ziya Yokus, Derk Beemer, @David Congratulations! Let's use our positions to make a difference in Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). Let's see where this path leads us, what problems we encounter and the solutions we find.
