Here Alana and I work together to help her decipher the paragraph below on "Scientific Objectivity" from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. The goal is to work with her to understand difficult prose. At the end, she has the beginning of an understanding of what scientific objectivity might be. It turns out that one of her challenges in understanding is a limited understanding of how "science" can be false. It is natural, and to be expected, that hitherto her connection to science has been as an authoritative discipline. But in order to appreciate scientific objectivity as an ideal (indeed as an important ideal) she will need to become aware of the ways in which bias can distort the scientific endeavor in various ways. Again, the goal is not to get to a comprehensive understanding of these complex issues. It is merely to work together towards greater understanding of this one paragraph below, which was largely opaque to her when we started: "Scientific objectivity is a property of various aspects of science. It expresses the idea that scientific claims, methods, results—and scientists themselves—are not, or should not be, influenced by particular perspectives, value judgments, community bias or personal interests, to name a few relevant factors. Objectivity is often considered to be an ideal for scientific inquiry, a good reason for valuing scientific knowledge, and the basis of the authority of science in society." https://lnkd.in/gjR7a7Vx

We have a series of 8 articles on this topic... Proof the eternity of the existence of life and vital information. Could you introduce me to one of your fellow scientists at the university who would be interested in our research. This proof is a summary of the analysis of the results of scientific research in the fields of information technology, system analysis and biology. The proof is based on the main provisions of the theory of systems under the conditions of supplementing the systems with information functions. This is the basis of this proof. Thanks to this proof, a number of contradictions between the two main philosophical currents: materialism and idealism are eliminated, because not only matter is eternal, but also life with the information necessary for its existence is eternal. Here is one of our publications. https://lnkd.in/eHjpfKhz Prof. Y. Khlaponin

FIELD Starovoytov Vladimir Nikolaevich Abstract: Interdisciplinary science of philosophy (Science of philosophy) is a new scientific discipline that has a limitless subject area of philosophy, and at the same time, a strict evidence base of private sciences. It arose as a border science, combining the knowledge of philosophy with the knowledge of all special sciences. This is its great advantage. Interdisciplinary science of philosophy is a new type of dialectical scientific knowledge, specially created to solve strategically important problems of scientific knowledge and the formation of a perfect scientific worldview, which has already proven its perfection by the largest discoveries of the century. Dialectics is logic that greatly increases the creative potential of any person! Knowledge of the world in the Science of philosophy, as in an evidence-based science without boundaries, is precisely at the level of the most pressing fundamental problems. Here begins a breakthrough, a leap of all scientific knowledge without exception into its completely new (dialectical) quality. This article corresponds to the second section of the monograph “Science of Philosophy” (author Vladimir Starovoitov) and is intended for the widespread use of new knowledge by scientists of the world scientific community. Key words: State of a material object, substance, matter, corporeality, space, hyperspace, field, Being...

It is usually claimed that pilot-wave theories do not host indeterminacy. In this new paper published in the European Journal for Philosophy of Science, I try to challenge this belief, showing that some forms of metaphysical indeterminacy can peacefully coexist within Bohmian theories without undermining their explanatory power. Congratulations to Prof. Grantham on the recent publication of his article, Toward a More Natural Historical Attitude, in the European Journal for Philosophy of Science! Article Abstract: Modeling his position on Arthur Fine’s Natural Ontological Attitude, Derek Turner proposed the Natural Historical Attitude. Although these positions share a family resemblance, Turner’s position differs from Fine’s in two important ways. First, Fine’s contextualism is more fine-grained. Second, Turner’s argument for metaphysical agnosticism seems to lead to the implausible conclusion that we should be agnostic about the mind-independence of ordinary objects – a position in tension with Fine’s “core position.” While this paper presents a textual analysis of Fine’s and Turner’s arguments, the conclusions reached here cohere well with some of the best empirically-informed assessments of the historical sciences. Given the diversity of the historical sciences, the fact that many claims in the historical sciences have enough support to be regarded as true, and the implausibility of Turner’s agnosticism, philosophers studying historical science would be better served by embracing a stance closer to Fine’s Natural Ontological Attitude.
