VA (Big Govt) serves itself first - ALWAYS #VETERANS know they are merely subjects of PITY Fear Policy (Big Govt) can’t even deliver PITY. Big Government is not the answer! #RespectNotPity Be #TheEagle instead!
🛑 Why so many Veterans meet their end in VA parking lots 🛑 Today, the VA canceled my appointment with 28 hours' notice, an appointment that took me months to work up the courage to make. This launched me into a bureaucratic nightmare. What followed was a maddening loop of transfers—from a nurse advice line (who couldn't make me an appointment anywhere else because of policy) to eligibility offices(who couldn't make the doctor change because of policy), and finally bounced between clinics without any resolution. This chaos is why we hear heartbreaking stories of veterans committing suicide in U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs parking lots. It's unacceptable. Our veterans deserve dignity and respect, not endless red tape and incompetence. We need a complete overhaul of the VA system—now. Our heroes can't wait. Tanya Bradsher, Shereef Elnahal, Kimberly J., Steven Lieberman, Michael Missal is this the legacy you all want to leave behind when you stop SERVING the Veterans who utilize the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs? #VeteransAffairs #VAHealthcare #SystemFail #DemandChange
Brother, I know, I have been through the same crap and I don't care who they are unless they have walked in our shoes they will never understand. So, many just say "go over to the VA they will take care of you", BS, I go to the VA after year of strugling to work up the courage to walk in because while need the help I do not want to sit down and talk with someone reliving that nightmare, so then when I did finaly go, at the door they tell me well we can't see you right now, you'll have to get on the waiting list that is another 3 months wait. People have no idea what we have gone through. But, just know I and others like us are here and we will listen, so please do not become one of the 22, reach out to another vet. Maybe we can help each other. Just line when we were in service we had each others back no matter what, and civilans don't get it, so we may have to pull together again, just so we have each other's back in this war.
Remember to thank them for their service.
As a nation, WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
Our veterans deserve the best health care services money can buy. Take care of these brave Men and Women who put their lives on the line to protect us and America. God Bless America!
Trump will fix this!!
Takes me 6 months to get into see my psychiatrist because she is assigned to more than 6k veterans. Which is insane to me, how is one person supposed to provide decent care to that many people. She won't listen to me, still won't listen to what I have to say, I don't feel heard or seen, been on too many medications to even know what normal feels like anymore. I'm so sick of it. I know what is wrong with me and she refuses to evaluate for it. They don't want to help us. My PCP is terrible, so terrible I've gone untreated for an autoimmune disorder for over 3 years because she won't diagnose it. I've now been paying out of pocket for a naturopath who is appalled that I've been living in misery for that long. I'm so disappointed that this is what we have now that we have served.
I remember long ago trying to get appointments for my grandfather. It would take months, sometimes over a year to get an appointment. Once we waited for nearly a year for an appointment regarding his cancer, got there for a morning appointment, didn't leave until the late afternoon after being told, "I'm sorry, we won't be able to see you today". Our men and women deserve so much better. I know doctor's volunteer to work here, but something better needs to be done. They should be able to be seen anywhere, not just a specific location. Veterans risked everything for us to have the freedom to go to any hospital or doctor we want, why do they not get the same or better in return?
I was referred to VA mental health a year ago by my VA primary care doctor. My appt was scheduled months out, and the day before my appt they cancelled on me due to my Dr being admitted to the hospital. Rescheduled for 3 months later, and once again the day before my appt cancelled for the second time for the same exact reason. 3 rescheduled appt is schedule for next month over a year since I was originally referred. Private Dr had prescribed me medication. So been off medication for over a year waiting on the VA. Complete joke!

6moTook my wife over 3 years of pain to finally convince her doctors that she was actually in pain. 7 pain free years after her hysterectomy, she is doing great. All the phone calls, red tape, and cancelled appointments for us convinced me that you are absolutely correct. I had to put her on my dental insurance so we could get all of the terrible dental work from the Navy dentists finally fixed. 12 grand and 3 years later, she only needs 2 more crowns. The VA system is awful, and only got better when we had someone in charge willing to hold them accountable to their real mission - caring about and for ALL of our veterans. Force Congress to use this system for their healthcare and watch how fast the Yugo transforms into a Cadillac.
