Thank you for sharing this article. It helped to confirm my hunch that I should focus on technical sound design as I've been in exactly the role you describe for many years, but working with data instead of sound assets :D. Now I guess I just need the companies to understand that... ;)

3moLovely article. One additional thing I’d like to add for the Dialogue designer section - ‘the creation of pipelines and tools’. In every single dialogue role that I’ve worked in, I’ve been able to work with programmers and tools teams to help develop automated VO pipelines that reduced repetitive tasks and unlock designers to actually be creative both technically and artistically. This mindset applies to nearly every section of game dev, but is particularly important within VO which needs a pipeline to account for writing, recording, delivery of correctly named assets, importing into projects, and localisation.
