Assisting CXOs and VPs in integrating cybersecurity strategies, ensuring ongoing compliance and risk mitigation.
A few weeks ago, I concluded my tenure at DUST Identity, dedicating nearly 3.5 years to the organization. I would like to express my gratitude for the invaluable opportunities that DUST Identity provided me during this period. I take immense pride in the significant accomplishments we achieved during my time. Stepping into a leadership role was an incredibly humbling, challenging, and growth-oriented experience, which I consider a transformative chapter in my career. Leading individuals, a team, and then an entire portion of the business certainly takes you out of your comfort zone. I am exceptionally proud of the team I had the privilege to assemble and lead, the culture we cultivated, and the innovative products we developed. Working for any startup is undeniably demanding, and assuming a leadership position within a startup is an even greater challenge. While I may not have gotten everything right on the first attempt, I have learned and evolved as an individual and forged lasting relationships. Here is a small list of some of the things I helped accomplish along the way: - Scaled the engineering and product organization to, at its height, 15 engineers - Led the engineering strategy that allowed the DUST technology stack to expand into multiple markets - Built an effective cybersecurity culture that significantly expanded our FA&D offerings - Architected and led our Air-gapped product that is on its way to getting an ATO - Had the opportunity to work with some amazing and talented individuals and customers Also, along the way, I set out to achieve some personal goals as well: - Obtained my CISSP Certification - Completed my MBA - Created a Cybersecurity Course for Business Students that I’ve been teaching at UNH for the past two years. I would like to express my gratitude to Rod Schultz and Ashish Larivee for serving as my mentors during this journey. They consistently pushed me to excel and instilled in me the resilience required when facing tough decisions and uncertainties. They not only taught me how to be an effective engineering leader but also a leader attuned to creating a lasting and sustainable Product Vision that supports business outcomes, solving a market problem, all while fostering the ability to empower a team to achieve such a vision. DUST Identity is still growing and hiring, so check them out if you’re looking for your next challenge! As for what the future holds, I am taking a few weeks to recharge before embarking on the next chapter of my career. While I am not yet ready to announce my next opportunity, I will share the details next month once everything has fallen into place.
I hope your next journey brings happy new memories and new friends. Thank you for being you, it was such a privilege to work with you and learn from you :)
