Leonardo unveils new digital technology to defeat modern enemy air defences #Leonardo #BriteStorm #IADS Leonardo has launched a new product, called ‘BriteStorm’, that will allow armed forces to operate deep within enemy territory, even when that territory is guarded by modern Integrated Air Defence Systems (IADS). BriteStorm can perform ‘stand-in-jamming’: an airborne electronic warfare capability, deployed ahead of the main force, to deliver high-powered interference against a wide spectrum of threats. By doing so, BriteStorm degrades the enemy’s IADS, supressing its ability to detect and lock onto other platforms, protecting friendly forces and enabling their mission. The BriteStorm payload is designed to be installed on the widest possible range of UAVs and launched effects. It will equip each platform with an advanced array of digital deception techniques, deployable at long range. The UK Royal Air Force's Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) is working with Leonardo in relation to the capability and has purchased payloads to conduct trials. Successful flights with the RCO proving the capability have already taken place.

Evenlode allows for 4K quality video to be streamed to multiple viewing locations. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has undertaken a transformative modernization initiative to counter evolving threats in the current geostrategic threat scenario, prioritizing the induction of modern systems through smart acquisitions and indigenization. PAF Checkmates Pakistan’s enemies while strategically outplaying adversaries under the visionary leadership of Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Pakistan Air Force has led the PAF on path to becoming a Next Generation Air Force with induction of niche technologies, state-of-the-art equipment and human resource trained on modern standards with contemporary architecture for Full Spectrum Cross Domain Multi Arena warfare readiness in the fields of Aviation, Space, Cyber, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology to address the modern aerial warfare challenges. The acquisition of J-10C fighter jets, Unmanned Aerial Systems, modern electronic warfare platforms, force multipliers, state-of-the-art integrated air defence systems, air mobility platforms, HIMADS and hypersonic missile capabilities at an unprecedented pace has bolstered the PAF’s war fighting capabilities. Leonardo has been awarded a contract by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to provide its Falcon Shield C-UAS system for operation by the Canadian Armed Forces | Forces armées canadiennes. The company will provide a number of systems and a 10-year sustainment package that includes options for additional equipment and the spiral development of new capabilities. First systems will be delivered later this year with the Canadian Armed Forces that will immediately deploy Falcon Shield to forward operating bases to protect deployed personnel. Falcon Shield is the UK’s operationally-proven solution to the growing threat from group 1 to 3 (smaller, slower and lower flying) UAS, which are usually undetectable by conventional air surveillance equipment. Using a mix of advanced sensors from Leonardo and industry partners, the system rapidly detects, tracks and prioritises threats and gives operators the means to neutralise them effectively. The advantages of an encrypted bidirectional IP link in ensuring up-to-date situational awareness: Evenlode has the capability to provide an encrypted bidirectional IP link. This can be utilised to control various suites of technical surveillance equipment on board an air platform from the ground. The benefits of this include reduction of manpower on board the airframe and the ability for specialist equipment to be mounted on an air platform and controlled from a fixed location on the ground. Updated information packs can be transmitted to the TFO or other personnel on board the aircraft such as an arrest / interdiction team, thereby ensuring an up-to-date situational awareness and intelligence picture is maintained.
