Friday was EMJ's company wide Quarterly Planning Session ⚡ The whole company went to etc.venues in St Paul’s and were #inspired Typically we look at: 1️⃣ Successes - what have we done well but more importantly, how could we have done more of it. ✔ 2️⃣ Challenges - what didn’t work as well as we hoped and how could we do it differently in the following quarter. 📈 3️⃣ Critical Numbers and KPIs - review how we are tracking against our 4 critical numbers and all the KPIs that feed into them. Digging into why we ended up where we did. 📊 4️⃣ 90 Day Plans - with in our departments work out what we need to do for the next 90 days to hit the next quarters critical numbers and KPIs 👨🏫 5️⃣ Extra Session - we always have time for a ‘Random’ session. This might be to discuss if we are launching a new product, department or even a new company. This time round it was Q&A with the Senior Leadership Team 🙋♂️ 6️⃣ Key Nuggets - Feedback from everyone on the day, how we will move forward. 🥇 7️⃣ Team Social - an opportunity to do some team building. Hi 👋 I’m James and today is my 10th anniversary at Project One Consulting 🎂 You may recognise me from my POV videos as I travel around between customer sites – simple, straightforward soundbites on all manner of topics aligned to our shared change and transformation agenda 🎥 It’s crazy that today marks my 10 years, as I still remember Day 1, walking into my first customer assignment with John Lewis in Victoria Street 👔👗🥪 Along the way I think I have been open, honest, authentic and transparent about the journey I have been on, in my own driven, direct, and somewhat quirky style and vulnerability, always happy to talk to the highs and the lows in equal measure, but hey I’m brave enough and old enough to be me, flaws an’ all 🙌 📉 A decade on and I continue to marvel at our ability as a boutique to support all manner of big, often global, businesses by leading the delivery execution of their most business critical and complex #change and #transformation programmes, by being their leaders of change, their Transformers 🤖 It’s great to lead such an amazing company, working with truly wonderful customers, but as ever it’s made possible by our team, our people, those magnificent change agents, our change experts, who bring it all to life and make it happen; they are our North Star 👫⭐️ I have loved this past decade; have never had one of those Sunday nights of dread; and am excited by what is still to come in this next phase, enabling more businesses to change, thrive and grow 👏👏👏 #changemanagement #transformationalleadership #celebrate #anniversary

For the past several months, I've been involved in leading a large global acquisition. It's been a mix of rewarding moments, challenges, fun, and sometimes overwhelming situations. Throughout, my team has shown incredible resilience, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together. Today marked a major milestone - Day 1 of the new combined company. As the day unfolded with its share of unforeseen challenges and reflections on areas for improvement, a simple yet profound reminder came from an unexpected source. My 5-year-old nephew shared, "you know, people are just meat," what a great perspective and much needed humor after 14 hours of meetings. As we navigate through the complexities and intricacies of this new phase, I am committed to embracing the lessons from our experiences, focusing on growth opportunities, while also acknowledging that perfection is not the goal. My 5 key takeaways being a CEO 12 months in 👇 This year at Sysarb has been an incredible Journey with both ups and downs. We managed to hit many milestones and break new records. A big thanks to Given and Ben Hayman for inviting me in to share my Founder's Story with the team at their monthly Brains and Bagels get together. It's not often I get to stop and reflect, so I was grateful for this opportunity that made me do just that. Here are a few lessons learned: 💭 Dream first. The plan will follow. 💭 Be smart with your resources. 💭 Align yourself with people who share your values. 💭 Never forget your raison d'etre - it will keep you on track. 💭 Businesses can be successful but also be purposeful & value driven. 💭 Be a Queen.
