Bill explains how the first few days of the introduction are incredibly important to the overall success of adding a new pet to your home. He shares that it is paramount to first assess the needs of the existing pet(s) in the home. Make them the most important thing! Bill also talks about how to make proper introductions. He suggests having dogs meet on neutral ground, where one isn’t coming into the other’s territory immediately. Then, start walking! Take both dogs on a walk together where they can be in similar spaces without the pressure of figuring each other out fully right away.
